Do the Titans go after Mike White in the off-season?

Im pretty sure the original post was in jest but it is interesting to imagine what a team might be willing to give up for his rights.

I don’t know how the restricted free agent thing works.  Is there a certain round tender the team gives as compensation for a team that is looking to sign him?

Would it be feasible for the Jets to tender a 2nd round but negotiate a third for Mike White from a QB needy team who sees real potential?

Not saying they should but is that a reasonable scenario that could play out?

Mike White will be available to whoever wants him for somewhere around the league minimum. The Jets won’t even tender him at the right of first refusal rate, because that would be silly.

This

Flacco will be the #2 next year provided that he still wants to play.

But Mike White will have a nice story to tell his grandkids one day. So at least he has that.

After White recovered from his injuries etc he didn’t take a snap. And wasn’t backup on the field for most of those games. So kind of hard to figure if he’s still in their plans. He had one bad game and that was it. But you’d figure there would be interest in him. I’d bring him back and let him compete for backup job.

If they want a guy who can go toe to toe with Joe Burrow they should make the call. I’d be interested for their first round pick.

AJ Brown. titans first and 3rs rd pick this year & 4th rd next year .  We send Mike White and Corey Davis

boom.

The Jets would absolutely be smart (as usual) to dump a backup qb who everyone on the team loves and respects. If there’s one thing we know, it’s that the Jets are historically brilliant at managing the QB position.

The jets should absolutely hang onto mike white and he earned the right to the backup here and should have never been playing behind Flacco.

on the other hand, it’s not like any of the QBs we get rid of ever go onto to do anything

you cant keep White. hes become a folk hero. if Wilson struggles the call for White to play will be too distracting.

plus White might not be so good. JD has to produce wins next year. if your him and Wilson has to get benched, who are you trusting to get you wins, White or Flacco. i would go with the SB winning vet who looked real good in his game last year than the one game wonder.

Your concern over the backup QB position is impressive .... most impressive.

.... Richard Todd, Ken OBrien, Chad Pennington, Mark Sanchez, Genope, Sam Darnold ...

The Jets need a better solution at backup QB this year than either White or Flacco. Whether it’s a Mariota, Trubisky, or whoever; but they need a backup who can come in and win games if they need him to. The honeymoon is pretty much over for these guys. They need a minimum of 8 wins to keep the angry masses at bay. They can’t trust that to Mike White. They learned that last year.

I wish we had a QB that can look terrible  beat Rodgers in a playoff game at Lambeau. We only seem to get the looks terrible part.

Winning a road playoff game with your offense only scoring 6 points? Sounds exactly like the Rex Ryan era.
