Aaron Rodgers to the Jets rumor: Merged

this whole retirement scare is BS to me.

GB is the one who has the most to lose if he retires

If the Jets felt he was going to retire they could have pivot long ago

however if AR announced days/weeks ago he was not going to retire and wanted to be traded to the Jets that would make it very difficult for the Jets to get him cheap and allow the Jets to surround him with more talent.  GB would have more of an upper hand.

While AR stays silent my bet is GB is the one feeding Rappaport that he needs to provide his intentions so we know how hard to squeeze the Jets.

Yeah, that retirement thing is over.  He's playing, he's coming to the Jets.

I was just talking about a post that stated at the end of the year he was 99% sure he was retiring.  That just worries me if he's not all in.  That's all.

But I imagine if he took all this time to think it through - he's all in and going to go for it.

Oh come on, 'if rodgers wants him'

Give the guy a years worth of money and make him a coach  or something.  Using viable rosters spots because a guy is buddies with the Qb is idiotic.

We already went and got a sub par oc as a start up to the rodgers boot licking.

Yeah we need to add more buddies of Rodgers at Wr to  make him happy.

The funny thing is if you point out Rodgers was not that great last year and every one comes running in saying he had no wrs and no weapons!  thus....we are going to run out and get all the guys he had last year,

Lazard and Cobb stink.

Cobb >> Berrios

An upgrade is an upgrade.

It's a done deal.  @Rapsheet is in the dark on this one.

He's in the dark with Rodgers.  No reason he can't speak to contacts with Jets and Pack to find out if there has been any progress.

I don't mind if he gets the darkness retreat days wrong.  No reason he should miss on the football stuff.

No he isn't stink and stink.  But we are letting a 1 or at most 2 years QB dictate the makeup of our team, great!

If Rodgers was not the QB, Cobb would not be on the radar at all, and most people would barf at the jets getting him.

To those who were puffing their chests out a few hours ago after our players started tweeting that “their sources” told them this was done before anyone else knew anything..

1. Why hasn’t either team announced a trade?

2.why hasn’t the trade been confirmed yet by anyone?

3. what did your people say we were sending Green Bay as compensation?

No teams are announcing trades. Only “reports” from insiders because it isn’t official until 3/15.

Berrios was cheaper, younger and played special teams.  How many WRs do we need that don’t play specials?

Cheaper because he's a lesser player. He was crap on offense in even the small role that it was. Cobb would be a much better fit in that role. No one is saying Cobb is going to be a #2 or #3 even.

Look, with Rodgers in the fold, they're going to make him comfortable and spend on guys. Half measures like Brax are over.

True, part of his appeal to the Jets is his comfort level with AR.

But to argue that Cobb is not a better #5 WR than Braxton Berrios means your emotions are again getting the best of you over reason.

This isn't really a position to get that worked up over.

Yes, if Rodgers wants him.

The moment Rodgers touches pen to paper he immediately becomes, far and away, the Jets best player in franchise history.

The teams entire existence over the next year or two is completely predicated around him.

And if he wants his longtime friend who can still contribute 400+ yards and 4-5 TD’s as the backup slot, can return kicks and punts and will command little more than the vet minimum…then why should I care?

Give it to him
