But it would give us a WORSE draft pick, and the DOLPHINS a better draft pick.

Who gives a ****? Look back through the last ten years of picks from 10-20. They either get it right or not. The only big difference is for people doing mock drafts because after the season starts it really doesnt matter where you where drafted.

I would venture that Idzik and the scouting staff, and possibly Woody give a .........

Funny thing is that if we win the last 2 games then he may see more than just DC offers.  IMO most FO people around the league will acknowledge that with this roster, the Jets' season (in terms of realistic contender-type chances) was probably over before it began.  Therefore some team(s) who don't follow us week-in/week-out will view a final 8-8 record - with a team that has a killer DL, a good (formerly great) center, a good ILB, and nearly nothing else - as a resounding success.  Also it'll make his final #s here 2 championship games (both losses), two 8-8 seasons, and one 6-10 season.  Guys have been given 2nd chances with far worse than that on their résumés.

My money's still on him getting fired & just getting a DC job in 2014, though.  Right now we're 6-8, not 8-8, and could very easily finish 6-10 for the 2nd straight season.

We'll beat Cleveland today then lose horribly to Miami.  7-9.

Simple answer to a complicated question. Thanks for chiming in.

It really is very simple.  We went 8-8, 6-10 and now either 7-9 or 8-8.  No one gives bonus points for bad rosters when you have 3 straight years of mediocrity.  It's a result-based league.  Rex deserved props for his first 2 years here, because he produced.  But now he isn't and will be gone, despite a nice game today.
