What's Matt Forte up to?

Retired.

If we cut Crowell we'd likely need to pick up a RB off the scrap heap.  These are some of the options:

* Orleans Darkwa

* Charcandrick West

* Jamaal Charles

* Charles Sims

* Kenjon Barner

* Eddie Lacy

* Terrance West

None of those remotely interest me other than Kenjon Barner.

I can't understand you thought process. So we just count on everyone getting hurt? Powell has run better than crow every snap. we just ran crow because you know we needed revenge on the browns. it was ridicuous. You know who doesn't act like a jackass and runs better than cro? Powell who is on the team. How bout we play him and lose the jackass.

That's how a good team operates. you fire peopel that hurt your team and hire guys that help you win. You don't cut every player you cut the one that done buy in and want to help us win. Cro by his action deserves to be canned.

Half right!! Def cut the coach, but why keep the player?

I think they do, when we ran the ball in the first half they did pretty good.

Sure, lets cut him and then when Powell gets hurt who do we have at running back. Trumaine Johnson got an unsportmanlike penalty also that gave the Browns a 1st down and kept the jets defense on the field a lot longer than they should have. Should we cut him too and play Skrine at CB?

you don't think it had anything to do with the game? He basically said I dont give a **** about the game when he did that. Everyone saw it and was like oh we are doing this now. We dont give a **** either...

I don't care about playing the game we are just going to do what we want, make penalties not finish plays etc..

Why should they care we are up 14 we are going to win and coach is cool with it. Haha sweet lets not care.

Then next think you know, we let cleveland fans get free beer.  Yeah had nothing to do with it.

Eh.  You are way too fired up.  The post I responded to said that the 15 yards went on the kickoff as if the field position was part of it.  It wasn't.  I know that fans don't like to hear it, but football is kind of an animal game.  There is a ton of posturing and while you want everyone to be smart out there, it isn't a Mensa meeting.  If you don't want a guy to think when a 330 lb DT is bearing down on him or a safety is going to light him up over the middle, you can't be too surprised when he does something stupid in the end zone.  As I said, it can't be tolerated, but it wasn't the first stupid thing these guys have done and it won't be the last.  Crowell is not exactly a high character player.  We knew that going in.  BTW, everybody's new hero, Parry Nickerson, was absolutely begging for a personal foul

I don't care if it didn't hurt the outcome of the game, it was a disgrace. I get that it's professional sport, but decency should matter. This isn't 2 am at the strip club. Kids are watching. For a franchise that struggles with branding and perception, this was not a good look.

Oh please , I'm sure kids see much worse at every school and bus stop in America.

In a 2 score game with a legitimate shot to get a tough road win, Cro put his imaginary feud with Cleveland fans over his teammates, Jets fans, and the organization by WILLINGLY compromising our chance to win. He knew those 15 yards on a kickoff are huge, especially at the end of the half. And he knows that the LAST thing you want to do is give the home team some hope and get the fans back into it going into halftime.

Yet he did it anyways.

So show a f****** spine TB and Macc and make a damn point. Get rid of him. Make the statement that ANY player not 100% dedicated to winning football games, and ONLY winning football games, will be gone. Putting yourself before the team, let alone in a crass gesture that embarrasses the organization, is automatic dismissal.

To me, anything short of this reflects the poor leadership by Macc and Bowles.

Dude, c'mon

The penalty meant that Cleveland started at the 26.

A touchback would have had them starting at the 25.

The penalty meant they had a chance to return the kick from about their 10-15.  Just because we made a good special teams play means nothing.

Their drive started at the 25 or so.

Whether we keep Crowell or get rid of him will not affect our overall losing season, ok maybe we win a game or 2 more with him.  The reality for me anyway, is that I have never seen such a display of vulgarity by a Jets player in all my life.  The Jets were literally the villains in this game after that display.  Then we had Trumaine's move that sealed our villainous role. I was literally rooting for the ******* Browns after that.

This is not the same team I grew up a fan of.  I grew up a fan of a professional Jets team.....Al Toon, Wesley Walker, Freeman McNeil, Joe Klecko, Ken O'brien.  The coach, Joe Walton was a true professional.  I loved that team regardless of their win-loss record.

This team is appalling.  Fire every last one of these mother****ers that don't play with dignity and respect.  **** em.  Rather go 0-16 every year with dignity than keep these loser players and coaches.

To the Johnson's:  Please do every Jets fan a favor and sell this team already.  You suck.  You've had 18 years and what do you have to show for it.  Nothing.  Get outta here!

The Crowell penalty had nothing to do with the loss.  The Browns went three and out right after that.  Trumaine Johnson's penalty was the killer.

I disagree it changed FIELD position and altered the underlying momentum.....

The Jets offense was putrid and that hurt them!!!

Gronk is a Hall of Famer. He has equity. This guy is a Browns castoff. Are we really a worse team without him? We can't afford to make an example of him? This team is a circus. Inmates running the assylum. If you don't get benched for fumbling or terrible penalties, whats the incentive to focus or work hard? Or even to not act like a classless fool?

you nailed it..

Crow definitely should be punished.

Robby I'm not sure about.  I didn't see what happened, but I think his face was bleeding after that play.  Sure you'd like everyone to hold onto the ball even after getting hurt, but I can't see punishing a guy who may have taken a shot inside his facemask or something.

Thin ice sure, but no punishment yet.

Maybe if it was the first time. He does it at least once per game. He’s just too slight. And I don’t know if he was bleeding but he sure was crying into his towel. As if no one has ever bled in the NFL. Eli got his head split open and got back in the game

He wasn't crying.  He was soaking up blood.

And I believe he has fumbled twice this year.

What are you smoking?  The Browns started that drive on the 26 instead of the 25.  Crowell's penalty did NOTHING to change the outcome of the game.  Trumaine Johnson's penalty, on the other hand . . .

A lot of personal insults in this thread. Won't bother going through and cherry picking them but I would expect better from the mods to police that.  Just no need to call people dumb, clueless, etc because some may have differing opinions. Civility and decency is a dying ideal in this country.

Of course we're in a thread that centers around a professional football player celebrating a TD by pretending he defecated on a football...so there you have it.

You're absolutely right. I'm sure at many bus stops this morning, one or more of the kids was reenacting Crowell's behavior. Makes you proud, doesn't it?

Does it make me proud no, does it offend me absolutely not. This country is becoming softer than a roll of Charmin.

So if he pretended he was in a potato sack race or playing hide and seek its all cool and funny and is shown on countless highlight reels . But because he showed emotion against his former team he's a pariah . Football is a game of emotion , why does everything in today's society need to be neutered.

Question is will or should he be released the answer is no. The appropriate question is should he be disaplined for his behavior. To that my reply is yes. Bowles should have gone Mike Singetery on him and sent him to the locker room. The act was an embarrassment to the player himself, his teammates,organization and their fans. This was not an act done in a private environment but on National TV. My personal belief is that anyone that could defend this act needs to have their moral values checked. Bowles lost me last year when he quit on his team, he has lost any respect from me for a lack of leadership  for this issue. This is not  a mater of being prudish it’s a simple mater of right and wrong.

I'm always amused by people who get offended because others get offended at something offensive.

This country isn't getting soft, it's losing it's civility.

Wait, you're seriously trying to make the argument that doing something silly and playful, is the same as doing something gross and incredibly inappropriate?

If football were R rated, I'd say have at it. Go ahead and show yourself to be crude and lacking of any real creativity. It's not though, is it? Think the NFL wants families tuning out? He's going to be fined and he should be disciplined by the team for his actions.

Its because we pander to every bleeding heart liberal agenda , people are getting fed up of all the BS.  Everyone has to be equal, everyone has to be happy, you can't hurt anyone's feelings - this is not socialism.

Football is a contact sport played by grown men, up until recently its always been a game of aggression . Emotions flow over in sport all the time , but I guess in todays' age of participation trophies that is getting stripped out of the game as well.  If your so upset by the gross and inappropriate celebration on Thu - that was just a player expressing his frustration over how he was treated by his former team. If you don't like it - turn it off or perhaps the opera is always an option.

Anyone that knows me knows I am far from a liberal. Yes people get their feelings hurt it happens an that’s ok. Everyone should have chance to be happy but much is up to the individual to attain that happiness. As for being equal that is not a reality and should never be expected it an individual right to excellence. Now if you are talking about a right to be treated equally in a cultural and social environment then yes we all should have that right. As for socialism not sure where that comes into play in the conversation of this topic. The act that took place was a disgraceful one and needs to be recognized as such. As for punishment it needs to be stiff. This was not a child who needs a talking to for poor behavior. This was a grown man that committed an vulgar act not just in public but on a National stage. If he was man enough to commit the act he needs to be man enough not face the consequences.

The act that took place IMO was a spontaneous show of emotion from a player who played for the Browns and who was probably lambasted by the fans after the 1st TD. Since it cost his team 15 yds I agree he should be punished by his team/coach but it doesn't need to be stiff.

I'd much rather see someone act spontaneously after a TD then have a group of players put on a choreographed performance piece.

Not sure how spontaneous the act was but as Herm Edwards once said think before you press send, same applies here. Does he need to be released NO, but a minimum 1 game suspension I feel is called for. The reason I say that is the act was not just a reflection on the individual it was also on the Team he represents. He was in uniform and playing for the Jets. If I did something like this while I was representing my employer I could expect a pink slip any moment.
