So true. Have done road trips to all three, Nashville twice. Nothing better than the walk over the Cumberland River Bridge to the stadium in Nashville.

my favorite JET experience was 2008 in Nashville.  The Favre game.  Got there Friday morning , partied like a college kid. ALL bars full of Jets jerseys all weekend.  Was awesome.

If you have interest in doing more than just coming to the game, Newark or JC will have more for you to do. If you want to hit Manhattan at all, the JC Westin is where the visiting teams stays I'm pretty sure. Make sure to call their rooms at 4 AM.

Even so, you can still go out in Manhattan, or in my case usually spending Saturday on the Island with friends/family.  But I would much rather make the drive out to the Stadium Saturday night with no traffic.  If you are hanging out in Manhattan, its a quick uber on Saturday night, stat at the HIlton and you avoid the hassle of the drive in the AM when traffic is heavy.

Doubletreee at Newark Penn Station

Was that a stupid thing to do?  Should I cancel and re-book somewhere else?

Stupid thing to do.

Are you driving or renting a car?  If so, you can stay in dozens of Jersey hotels in a far nicer and safer area in a 20 minute radius of MetLife.

If you need the train, stay in Manhattan.  Tourism is way off and you can get a great room in a great hotel a stonesthrow from the Path or NJ Transit towards Secaucus and MetLife.

You'll be fine. For whatever it's worth the visiting teams stay in Jersey City. Easy to hop over to Manhattan then. Newark is fine though.
Newark is fine??? Uhhh.

I'd stay in Soho or Central Park areas NYC and train into the stadium. NYC is is pretty nice these days with foot traffic down 75%.

I liven in Bergen County which is beautiful about 25 min from stadium .. but no really nice hotels.

Yup. One of the things I love about road trips is trying to stay within walking distance of the stadium.  Nothing better than an easy walk to and from the stadium. Planning to get to Indy this year -- another city that is really well set up with a ton of hotels within a few blocks of the stadium.

Sounds like it will be Indy for us too. Slight chance for Denver.

Didn't want the competition for "his" arena... msg... just 1 of the many reasons I don't support Any of his business ventures... starting with cablevision.

At least Dolan makes sure to take care of former Knick players and celebrities who support the team.  And enjoys when fans "tease" him with chants of "sell the team".

Look, the Jets have clods as owners.  But Dolan is worse and a complete scumbag on every level imaginable.  As a Knicks fan from the 60s, I walked away from the team a few years ago because of Dolan's incompetence and antics.  Even now when they have made the playoffs for the first time since Lindbergh landed in France, I hope they get destroyed.  Just to watch that POS' face on camera.

Or watch the news.

You’d have to watch Newark 1 on cable tv - no one gives a hoot about Newark.

A NY Jets fan was found roaming  around the streets of Newark last night by Newark police in a dangerous part of the city. Police were suspicious of the individual who was wearing the new ugly Jets jersey and ordered him to empty his pockets. When he did, police found a game ticket Jets Vs. Saints. The individual stated he was lost and trying to find his way back to his hotel. Police warned the fan 1- this is a highly infested drug neighborhood you’re in and 2- I wouldn’t wear that ugly jersey around here. Police escorted the fan back to his hotel. Jets won the game 30 -17. ?

Definitely do not stay in Newark, anywhere but Newark! ?

Howard Johnson on route 3 is in clifton right by ihop and tick tock, close to couple bars as well like Shannon rose, tomorrow's and also 10 minutes from the stadium about 25 30 from NYC without traffic  that would be my choice if coming in from out of town..

Honestly, from the Doubletree you can hit the Starbucks like 3 blocks away or in Penn Station in the morning. Take the NJ Transit train to the game. And if you’re down in the evening you can hit up Brazilian Barbecue, at Iberia a few blocks from the hotel.

You guys are awesome, but I'm not flying from Alabama to New Jersey and going to a BBQ restaurant.  Now that pork roll thing sounds pretty damn good

If you are in for just the game ... Sar is right the mahwah Sheraton is nice and you can train in from Mahwah. Its about a 50 min train ride to the stadium f et on there. I know a couple good options ffg or that Taylpr ham and egg sandwich if you need.

But more than one night ?? NYC is expensive but easily more fun than any other option.

Andvits only a 15 min train ride from Pemm to the game.

@Sarge4Tide just in case hope you dont need it.

Newark Police Division, Phone

they most likely won't respond anyway. i work for Port Authority PD and we handle tons of their jobs.

if i was going to a jets game i most definitely wouldn't pick newark to stay in.  i'd probably go more the AirBnb route for somewhere in JC, Hoboken, etc.  Even if there's something in Rutherford, East Rutherford, Montclair. that being said, dinosaur BBQ, some of the Portuguese rodizio joints are amazing.  i just wouldn't want to be walking around the city.
