I'm not going to be surprised when Ammendola is on the practice squad when he clears waivers. With some fine tuning and consistency, Ammendola will end up on the Patriots and have a 17 year career breaking every kicking record in the books.

I really hope we bring him back on the PS. The guy has a lot of talent and a really powerful leg. With some refinement, he could be very good. Might be beneficial for him to work on his technique without pressure for a while.

Kessman, a Michigan native, played his college football for Pat Narduzzi at the University of Pittsburgh. Kessman went 69-96 (71.9%) on field goals and 134-138 (97.1%) on extra points during his college career. One of his four career missed extra point attempts came in overtime against Boston College last season, costing Pittsburgh the game just moments after he extended the game with a booming field goal at the end of regulation.

He’s never attempted an NFL kick

It would not shock me to see him added to the PS, guy has a booming leg. If he gets plucked off of the PS that's fine too. Fingers crossed Kessman can do better.

Because Amendola's above average leg and the misses were not by much I thought he would stck until the season's end. I am a bit surprised by this move. What could Amendola have done this week in practice that would have him cut Saturday night literally hours before game time Sunday morning but not Monday or Tuesday after the win in Houston  to ensure Kessman all the kicking reps as starter in practice? .

I wouldn't be surprised if Ammendola becomes a kickoff specialist who attempts the 67 yard field goals at the end of halves, plus the side benefit of  being the emergency punter. Ammendola will be on someone's roster in 2022.

This season is for developing our young players, imo, kicker is included.
