Tippmann was as bad Sunday as Becton, Tomlinson or Billy Turner

Offensive line is more about cohesion and continuity than any other unit. Nobody is going yo look good on this line

I disagree .. OLmen should be expected to know every position and their route trees ... Ooops.

How does this GM and head coach not understand the importance of OL continuity??

No player will look good on this OL.

Basically, woody needs to find the best OL coach and pay them big for next year.

That shouldn’t be a problem. Woody historically only hires the best people .

Bad take. Up until last week, he was a top 10 rated center in the NFL with only 1 sack allowed and 11 pressures. Plus he played out of position at RG for 4 games. Considering the amount of instability the offensive line has had, there is no way he could mesh with anyone. He is just as tall and gawky as Ragnow and Connor Williams, and they are the top rated centers in the league, as of now.

You cannot judge Tippmann on Sunday. It was an offensive line disaster of epic proportions. He had one bad game. He is a rookie. Putting him in with failures like Becton, Tomlinson, and Turner, isn't fair to the kid.

I'm not sure where you read that he was top 10, but PFF has him as the 29th rated center right now (at least he's ahead of John Michael Schmitz). Tippman was playing a lot better at guard than he has played at center.

We need a better coach, a better scheme and a better weight room.

This is going to be the "sacrificial lamb" after the season is over. Saleh will have a PC saying "Keith is no longer the OL coach". Press: "Was he fired?" Saleh: "No he's just moving on". Don't misunderstand me, the guy should be fired but this group is a clown show.

One poster says he sucks, based on limited play on an awful OL, comparing him to top 5 centers now and in the past. Another says he's the next Kevin Mawae. Hot takes. All you can do is laugh sometimes.

With the disaster that is the Jets OL, its really hard to evaluate Tippmann either way at this point.

No clue what he and Becton were thinking on that play where zac got crushed. The kid stepped forward past the DL and looked for someone to block they were all behind him at that point

Honestly it looked like they were unsure which D-lineman they were gonna pass off to who.....

that's an indictment of coaching......

besides getting beat by the man in front of them....our OL constantly looks like their unsure of what their assignment is on a play

thats majority coaching.....this is a poorly coached unit exacerbated by injury...

For whatever reason (like a combination of inept coaching and McGovern not being great at it) we have struggled picking up stunts for YEARS and that continued yesterday.  Now im not gonna blame Tippman for that as its his first season as a starter but I truly hope we get a competent coach to run the offense and he improves with time at identifying the right protections.

I'm leaning to this more being an issue with scheme/lack of adjustments.  Several times Sunday seemed like the Oline was confused on who they had to pick up.  Becton got schooled multiple times, but there were others when defenders just went unblocked.  That could be the oline coach, OC, the QB failing to adjust protection presnap or a combo of all those things.  In the end, it falls back on the HC.  QBs and OL going down left and right throughout the league.  No excuses here.

1000% this.  Funny thing is that Miami wasn't doing anything overly exotic.  A lot of simple stunts and blitzes that nobody picked up.

Doesn't have the balance, quickness, or agility of

Kelce, Humphrey, Mawae, Linsley, or even Jets old center

Joe Fields. May be too long and gawky

The Oline is not an individual thing - they need to play together and communicate. If it all breaks down they all look bad. We need a new coach. Everyone thinks just adding new players will help - gotta draft first round for sure, etc., etc. Well, pretty much every player on our line was picked in the first round aside from Tippman (high 2nd) and whatever right tackle we've had. Stop with the high picks and get some proven vets and a good coach. If we are really high on the board the pick of a smart franchise is QB. We don't have any future plan, like GB did when they picked Rodgers. I hope we can sign a FA tackle, guard and #2 WR. Take another OL with the 3rd pick, 4th pick whatever.

Becton and Tomlinson have combined to allow 40% of the offensive line’s sacks (18 of 45) and 37% of its pressures (83 of 225).
