NASHVILLE — Nashville Police say they have arrested Houston Texans player Ryan Griffin for drunkenly punching out a front window of a downtown hotel as the city hosts the NFL Draft.

A police news release says the 29-year-old tight end faces charges of vandalism and public intoxication for the incident at Hotel Indigo late Friday night.

Police say hotel security followed Griffin after the window was broken, and when officers responded to the call, Griffin’s left hand and fingers were bleeding, and he appeared intoxicated and unsteady on his feet.

Police say Griffin was physically arrested for his own safety, rather than given misdemeanor citations.

His bond was set at $1,750. Police say Griffin was released from jail Saturday morning.

It’s unclear if Griffin has hired an attorney.

Him and Robbie Anderson should hangout.

His catch percentage is pretty bad.  Tall and slow.  He is probably everything we can hope for out of Wesco.  Interesting that Darren Fells is part of the reason the Texans dumped him, since that is who Gase really wanted.

He’s probably better then Wesco ever will be receiving wise.

So if I have this correct, we’re temporarily replacing our suspended, drunk driving TE with a TE who drunkenly punches hotel windows.

Cool.

When do we get to hear from all the guys here who only want choirboys on this team? I hope it’s soon, because I STILL want Tyreek Hill if he becomes available. I just need to know the level of idiotic behavior that is acceptable.

Mostly the ones where you don't threaten lives, beat women or children for starters?

Kind of an easy line not to cross

Gotcha. So it’s ok to be driving at twice the legal limit and broadside another car at 100mph?  Maybe I was wrong for thinking that’s also threatening lives, but...

Ok, now I at least know where you and @Jet_Engine1 draw the line.... and that’s all I was asking.

At least we know Douglas is ok taking chances on questionable character guys. Some of these guys just need a little bit more time to mature. Alcohol is a power drug. Especially because it’s so accepted in our culture. Next thing you know, you’re 8 drinks in and flopping around.

Where in any of this did I say drunk driving is ok?

Theres a big difference.

Women and children threatened, beaten?  Not even close.

And yeah, know where I stand, I do.  I draw the line,  no selling out.

Tough subject, we'll never agree, that's ok.  Hunt, the other thug people wanted to sign probably cost KC a shot at the SB.  But it's ok, we want him.

We're not trading for Hill.  Thankfully.

I think most people draw the line at beating pregnant women and children. I had no issue with what Hunt did or what a lot of other players have done but no.

I’m probably just a lot more jaded then both of you.

I used to revere ballplayers as a kid, all I ever wanted was to be one, right through my senior year of college. I don’t remember exactly when that changed, it might’ve been the Georgetown teams of the Ewing era that did it. I despised them. Then he was drafted by the Knicks. “What do I do now?” Lol. So I stopped pretending all the guys on my team were “good guys” and just rooted for the uniform.

Trust me. There is nothing in me that thinks Hill is a decent human being. But I’ve been disgusted by the actions of many athletes who played for my teams over the years, and yet I find myself cheering when they make a big play.

I just look at them as a part of “my team”. No personal attachment. If the league lets them suit up, and they have on the right shirt, I cheer. If not, I boo. If my team can get a guy, any guy who will help them win, I want him. I’m not rooting for him, I’m rooting for his shirt.
