People have different opinions, that's how you get interesting discussion. If we all unanimously agree that Geno Smith is a steaming pile of dogsh*t, then there wouldn't be a whole lot to talk about.

Fitzpatrick:  22/29, 295 yds, 2 tds, 0 ints.

So now the litmus test of a QB who everyone thought of at best as a game manager is beating the pats in the next game or his season and efforts are invalid.

 

I have no clue in this world how we have multiple people on here still bleating about how but fitzpatrick is when he has exceeded any rational persons expectations, has shown toughness and guts, is well liked by his team mates and shows good leadership, after the sheer and utter garbage this team has had at qb the last 6 or 7 years.  I can only conclude that people would rather look utterly stupid than admit they may have been wrong in some of their evals.

 

I get it you want a FRANCHISE qb that will beat winning teams and give us a legit sb shot.  We don't have one.

Can win more than 6!  Oops....okay now lets go to 'lets see how he does vs NE?

Great pic. What a fun season that we are getting to enjoy. This year's team and virtually all of the players are likable. I really disliked the 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 teams. Underachieving players and an utter buffoon for a head coach. Loving where this franchise is headed. 

What is interesting is that I have seen a lot of pictures of the Receivers and Fitz having fun but I haven't seen many of our defense enjoying themselves maybe they aren't having as much fun.

It's only fun when you're performing well.  For the first time since 2008, the Jet offense is carrying the heavier load.

Not to mention, our personalities on defense aren't exactly "fun".  Revis is a mercenary, Richardson might be a sociopath, Cromartie is grumpy (you would be too with tons of child support payments) and Wilkerson is quietly pissed off he hasn't gotten paid yet.  Where is the "fun guy" in that group?

You can't seem to distinguish between giving a physically limited guy who has done a great job for us his due and people wanting to send him to Canton.  Yourself and the other Anti Fitzers have ZERO leg to stand on because in reality you are all less about Ftiz being bad and more about the real agenda, wanting Geno Smith to be our QB.  And lest you give off all of these indignant 'harumphs' about me saying that the one and only real alternative this year was Geno Smith.

In the 3 months since the season started and I started becoming an active participant on the boards, his MO has been to continuously make posts and then defend them to his grave - regardless of how stupid or indefensible they may be.

Regarding the 'talent around them" comment: to argue that VJax, Evans, ASJ, and Doug Martin isn't at least comparable, if not better than BMarsh, Decker, Cumby, and Ivory would be....well actually, that sounds exactly like the kind of thing he'd say initially, and then defend blindly.

I mean he's played 11 seasons and up till now never surpassed the 6 win mark. If this guy had an arm, it wouldn't be crazy to think that he'd be a franchise QB.  His feel for the game is tremendous.  The only weakness I see is his inability to push the ball down the field.

Any thread with the premise of "X will not happen this year because it didn't happen before" is setting itself up for trouble, IMHO.

It's the same when people jump to conclusions about "good" and "bad" teams based on the first 5 or 6 weeks, and stick by that regardless. Like how we should have beaten a "bad" Houston team because they started 1-4 and we started 4-1. Or how KC were trash after going 1-5 (despite their schedule in those weeks being brutal).

Every season, and every game, is different, and history often goes out the window.

I don't know how true this is, but I heard from someone who I trust, that has inside connections with the Jets, that MANY of the players have gone to Bowles and asked him not to play Geno if Fitz is capable of going. If this is true, its unlikely we will see Geno in because Bowles will lose the team.

Firstly, this isnt an assertion. Fitz 10 year history showed that the most games he's ever won in a season was 6. So the thread's title was a fact, not an assertion. Second, I've already stated it atleast 2 different times  along with even posting the direct quote showing what the basis of the thread was.  I cant help that the thread was bumped and then taken out of context by a guy who pouted like a 2 year old because I didnt want to donate to a charity. 

I've been on this site for almost 10 years. Anytime I've been wrong I've said it, no problem. But like I clearly said, the resurrecting of my thread was a move by the "salty" with the purpose of minsconstruing. I cant help that. I've already said it publicly, show me a quote where I said that Fitzpatrick will win no more than 6 games. Showing me that I said "Stop defending a max 6 win QB" is not saying that, at all. Its saying that at the time of the creation of the thread people were defending a guy who won no more than 6 games ever (as I stated) in 10 years yet attempt to wipe the floor with a 3rd year QB who's actually won more games his rookie season than Fitz has ever won in a season. 

 

So if you're going to ask me a question then please accept the answer, if you dont accept the answer then please show me the quote. If you can do that then I will create a new thread, publicly say I was wrong, eat some crow then read everyones response to my self-ownage. Like a boss here once said, im outspoken and a bit stubborn, but anyone who knows me here knows that when im wrong I say it. I've never ran or shied away from it nor have I ever stayed away from a thread while I was getting what I deserved based on me being wrong. However, what happened this week in this thread was just an absolute new level of stupid.

 

I had to sit back and laugh at how half the forum turned into Piranhas the moment they thought blood is in the water. This is actually the perfect example why I've always said that "if the masses agree with something you can pretty much guarantee that the sh*t is wrong". This forum let one butthurt poster harboring feelings for almost a month now allow them to attack a dude who wasnt wrong and didnt say what they said I did, while completely taking the title out of context then dismissing the very comments I made IN THE THREAD! lol.
