Jets don't claim Josh Gordon off waivers because apparently Demaryus Thomas is better

Gordon isnt exactly the most reliable guy in the world

Look at the alternatives.  Robby Anderson is our #1 WR.  Demaryus Thomas is on one leg basically.  This is a guy who could've helped them win some games.  Maybe Douglas really is tanking....

Hs is on a one year contract as I understand things. The Jets are going nowhere this year, and do not need additional headaches.

Right and if he came in here and gelled well with Sam then we'd have him for the rest of the year and would have the first shot at resigning him. For a team with little to no talent on the offensive side of the ball taking a $1mil flyer on a guy who's got some serious upside isn't a bad option. Who am I kidding though it's not like we have a 22 year old QB who needs all the help he can get

Why? For what?? LOL

We're 1-6, soon to be 4-12 AT BEST. Gordon is one hiccup from a permanent ban. Hes an addict. He can't stay clean. He doesn't care about football, and honestly the Jets already have enough problems on their plate. Bringing in Josh Gordon would be a stupid "media" move to grab a headline, and the Jets just dont have the energy to expend on babysitting someone with an abuse disorder on top of everything else.

Solid Pass.

We’re 1-6.  What exactly are your expectations for 2019?

I hate this franchise.

Yeah, thats what they said.

BTW, if nobody claims him ad we sign him after he clears waivers what will you then say?

Every turd who can be counted on needs to be signed immediately at his terms

Dumb move..  would have given Sam another weapon and could have been helpful in the event of a remarkable turnaround this season.

Also could have potentially led to a comp pick if he wasn't re-signed.

Passing is kind of a head scratcher..  if he doesn't show up to meetings or flakes out then cut him..  was certainly worth the risk.

So we're gonna act like Josh Gordon wouldn't put up better numbers than DT?

Why not, we're going to make believe the only difference between the two is their numbers.

Didnt DT put up massively better numbers when Gordon missed those 5 seasons with suspension?

Or are we going to act ike thats not true?

Anderson plays

Gordon doesnt

I probably take a chance, especially after he clears waivers, but I sure get why they and others would pass.

So this team has one of its captains crying like a little girl because his GM fielded a call about a possible trade, the starting LG filing a grievance about the mismanagement of an injury, the “star” RB calling the coach about not getting enough touches.....and some people wanted to bring Josh Gordon into this mess?   That’s pretty comical.  Gordon couldn’t attend meetings when he was with the most stable organization in the league, and people think he would be a model citizen with the Jets?   At least Joe Douglas has a little common sense.

Lmao what are you even talking about? You’re gonna sit here and say trading a pick to NE for a 31yr old DT is a better move than spending $1 million on 28 year old Josh Gordon? How? I know he’s not who he used to be but he’d be the most talented guy in the room idk why we wouldn’t try it what’s the risk? we have him for 8 games in a doomed season. Worst case He gets the team high and they all get suspend best case we resign him and he contributes to the weak WR room.
