Tom Brady to sign with Bucs....supposedly

Recommended Posts

TB will sign with Bucs per close source. Brady was apparently disgusted that Hopkins and Diggs were traded to other teams and Pats have not addressed the WR position thus far so he’s outta here. Wow if true.
Colin Cowherd: "I was told 35 minutes ago that Tom Brady signs tomorrow with Tampa Bay. He had made a decision and talked to Tampa Bay yesterday. He was willing to re-sign with New England but he watched Stefon Diggs and DeAndre Hopkins go to other franchises and then called Robert Kraft an hour and a half later and says ‘I’M OUT’… I am told Tampa is the choice and he will sign tomorrow... This is not a 'football source', it is a ‘Icon source', and somebody in Tom’s stratosphere that knows Tom, and who is a famous person. He says Tampa."

This would be good and fun for me.  let him get the hell out of the AFC and suck or swim.

Not a good spot for Brady.

Bad O-Line, Bad Defense, 0 Running Game.

Unless the 1st 2 improve, he's not putting the Bucs over the top

Excellent D that was extremely young and a very good O and running game.  Winston was a turnover machine.  The D was constantly put in bad field position and they were forced to abandon the run because of the turnovers and scoreboard.

TB is a staked team that needs smart QB play and a couple of their young guys to take the next step.

This isn't about winning another ring.  He has enough.  This is all about chasing Brees for the career yards and TD records and Tampa Bay is probably the best situation for him to try to do that.

He saw the yardage Winston put up with Mike Evans despite all the INTs and figures he can do even better.  Maybe he can.  When you see him passing on 2nd and 1 situations in the red zone you'll know for sure.

BTW, "TB to TB" is going to be the headline.  Book it.

And Bruce Arians' QBs have, historically, averaged the most air yards per attempt in the league by a wide margin.

Pairing with a dink-n-dunk QB doesn't seem smart.

Arians and Brady make sense. Both are no nonsense and disciplined vets. Bucs will mold that offense to Brady’s strengths.

How?  Will Mike Evans suddenly become a slot receiver?  Will they find an offensive line and running game?

They would have to make wholesale changes to make that offense work.  They might as well trade Mike Evans right now.

Or they were in shootouts because of the D and lead to more INTS.  5000+ yards, 30 tds isn’t horrible QB play

Jameis to the Pats?

Doesn’t Arians like to chuck the ball around and throw downfield?  TB seems like a bad fit for that at this point of his career.

Was just about to mention this. Tom Bradys skillset right now doesnt mesh with Arians bread and butter, but Arians is a great coach I would think he would modify his system to Brady somehow.

Isn't Godwin their slot receiver?  He is pretty good too.  They just need a deep threat guy to replace Perriman.  Perhaps Robby could go there if he does not re-sign with the Jets.

This is all wrong.

Their defense was ranked 15th overall, and that's only because they were #1 against defending the run. They were ranked 30th in against the pass, and 29th in ppg allowed. FAR from excellent no matter how you slice it.

Very good running game? Seriously? Except for the last game of the season, Ronald Jones was horrible. And Peyton Barber was even worse.

And their O-Line was terrible. They were ranked 22nd overall. They also allowed 106 QB hits (4th most in the league) and 47 sacks (5th most in the league).

The fact that you're putting all of that on Winston shows how misinformed you are, and I highly doubt you've watched many TB games

Brady has less arm strength than Chad Pennington at this point.  No deep threat makes any sense there if they bring in Brady.

Nope other way around.  Winston was horrendous.  Brady will have a blast.  The Bucs had WR wide open on almost every play.  Chris Goodwin is and Evans are both beasts.

Last I heard Evans is a really good WR. And now Robbie will be signing with Bucs. No brainer. He’s from Florida and gets his dream come true.
