I remember that draft year, big debate who sound go first Roger or Alex Smith the 49ers took Smith. That a major Jet like fook up. Then Rogers fell right to the end of the first. In fact it says he as “terrific fundamentals and mechanics.” Aaron Rodgers Scouting Report A simple google revealed this gem from Scouts.com. Although, I'd like to see a comparison of the 49ers report for Rodgers vs. Smith. (QB) Aaron Rodgers - CALIFORNIA (6'2", 223, 4.71) Strengths: He has outstanding arm strength. Has one of the strongest arms in this year's quarterback class. Shows the ability to make all the necessary throws in the NFL. Has great zip on his deep out route and shows the ability to fit the ball into tight spots. He has terrific fundamentals and mechanics. Also has very good touch and timing. Shows the consistent ability to lay the ball in between the linebackers and safeties in coverage. Impressive deep accuracy. Will also show the ability to take some velocity off of his underneath throws. He is poised in the pocket and isn't afraid to wait until the last possible second to deliver the ball while taking a blow. He gets set quickly and does a fine job of seeing the entire field. His ability to make progression reads and look off receivers has improved greatly to the point where he is among the elite in this class in those facets. He has terrific awareness in the pocket. Lacks prototypical quarterback size. He shows adequate quickness in the pocket and the ability to buy many second chances with his awareness and feet. Is a tough quarterback with good leadership skills and no character concerns. Coaches speak very highly of him in terms of his character and work ethic.

BTW that team with a plan after trading for Favre called him in to replace Majkoski in game 2 and never looked back. thats the only example you got Tua Herbert Murray Mayfield Allen Jackson all those QBs according to you should still be sitting cause its not 3 years yet.

Popular Post choon328
Every GM wants their OWN QB. People need to stop discounting the fact that Darnold was not a JD pick and he has no loyalty to him at all. JD has 4 years left on his contract. Do you think he wants to spend the next two years, one at $25 million, hoping Darnold becomes a QB he has shown he can't be? Or do you think he wants his own QB and own 4 year window with a cheap young QB that he could build around? If they like Fields or Wilson as a potential franchise guy they will take one of them at 2 and trade Darnold without a second thought. This has been and always will be about who they bring in for HC. It's still an attractive spot even without Lawrence bc of the draft picks, the cap money available and Becton and Mims.

The days of QBs sitting and watching are over. Mostly bc nfl offenses have finally, except the Jets, learned to build an offense around the young QB's skill set and put him in a position to succeed. That's the reason young QB's are doing exceptionally well early on.

Ohio state played Rutgers, we can still watch tape on fields that game. you watch the accuracy and the footwork and all the other things. 1

He then said this dude is the guy. Just goes to show you missing on trevor is the the worst thing. This dude might be a stud The funny thing is this might be true and yet missing on Lawrence is still the worst thing that could have happened to them. Douglas would have drafted Lawrence at #1 but will never in a million years draft Zach Wilson. They are going to trade down and kick the can down the road on a QB. It is in Douglas DNA to do this.
Jetster
I like to watch a QB & imagine him in the roll of the guy who's right now considered the best QB in the draft. Nothing that Lawrence did vs Notre Dame was anything that Zack Wilson couldn't have done in the same offense. Thats why it's so hard to evaluate QBs in college. Outside of two throws, 1 back shoulder & another long 35 out on a rope, everything else Trevor did last Saturday were dump offs, short slants & planned runs. Watching Fields hold onto the ball & Wilson quick release was like Night & day! I'm on the keep drafting them to you find one train. We didn't take Watson because that idiot drafted Hackenberg. If JD can find a trade partner & still draft Wilson sign me up. 1

With a salary cap, sitting a young QB for 3 years is not happening. You have to find out quickly if the guy can play, because if wait that long, the decision about whether to pick him up at the end of his rookie contract is going to be the most important decision a GM and ownership make. You want them to make that decision on practices and a few preseason games; that's insane. We are in that decision right now. If nothing else with Darnold, we have 3 years of data.

JD will have to earn his money this year since we do not have the number 1 pick. looking at Wilson's highlights, receivers are not wide open which is a plus compared to OSU, Clemson, Alabama or any of the other big programs. The talent that surrounds Wilson is night and day compared to those big programs. Yes the competition is less but he has elevated the players around him. Let's see how he performs/tests at the combine. is his arm legit? is he really 6'3"? if he checks all those boxes then it's a no brainer.

riggy001
4 more months of this is going to be painful, but need something to get through winter , right? During the tournament, many more qbs will be highlighted, and get the chance to impress further. Then, during combine, virtual or real, we will get to hear how small someones hands are, etc. Douglaus has some great options , lets get a real coach, and go from there, i will declare myself undecided, for now.
