Mike White starts on Sunday.  Zach will be inactive.  White will play well throwing for 275 yards and 3 tds.  

Saleh will say that White has earned another start and the following week, White will start again and Zach will be active and the backup.  

White is then going to lead us to 3 straight wins against the Dolphins, Texans and Eagles.

White will then have his 1st bad game vs the Saints.

The following week, Zach will be named the starter on the road against miami and he will finish out the season as the starter.

We can now stop talking about how this will play out.

the smart move is that this will be Mike Whites last start no matter how good he does. 

White is a FA at the end of the year. the more he plays and plays well the more money he will get. and QB hungry teams will bring up his price.

a smart move would be to keep White and sign him no matter what. and Wilson is going nowhere even if he has a bad ending to 2021.

it would really suck if White finishes 2021 good and then is the starter in 2022 and falters and we are paying him 20-25 mil a year for 3-4 years. and thats being nice, a bidding war could cost us more.

limited his time and sign him for a reasonable backup money of maybe 10 mil a year. 

let Woody know the plan so no one gets fired over this. he will probably like it as this should save us money and give us the most options. 

and remember that easy schedule that's coming up after Buffalo . White could be just a flash in the pan. he could really benefit for that schedule. we are trying to build this team and dont want to give a big contract to the QB just yet. especially to the wrong one.

Ummm yea if Mike white has a solid game and beats the bills it would take Saleh to have iron balls to sit him for a guy who Hasn’t played in a month at home without getting the crap booed out of him

You guys know that there’s no such thing as naming a starter for 1 week, right?

thats not actually a thing 

if Wilson is a full participant in at the latest Thursday’s practice, and you don’t start him you are changing the depth chart moving forward.  The soonest you can give Wilson a shot to win the job back is minicamp. 
If you yo-yo these guys you probably ruin them both 

losing to the bills 45-3 will help him grow 

if Wilson isn’t a full participant Friday it’s a different situation.

forgot the Mia game was home. ok the Texans then. either way he has to sit after that.

were making fun of the Panthers for having to pay Sam 18 mil next year when we might have to pay White a hell of alot more for multiple seasons off of what...... 7-8 games? if we keep that sample size down to 3 or 4 games it will be much cheaper.

i dont care if its White or Wilson, i just dont want to commit to White with a big contract after half a season.

Am I the only one that will be almost as shocked for White to play incredibly well against the Bills as we (all) were shocked at how well he played at Cincy?  I really hope he does - but sorry to say, my money is on it being a one game fluke...

White will start this week, you can probably take that to the bank.

He's at least a decent player, he'll throw for 250 yards,  2TD 1INT on 65+% completions with an AVG of 6.5.  Jets will lose by two scores scoring around 24 points and the threads will continue through next week.

White's style of play is high floor low ceiling at its finest.  Unless we win, I'd like to see Zach the following week to see if he's learned that even a grandpa journeyman QB can move this offense down the field so time to get with the program. 

I think the next time we see Zach on the field he will look completely different and everyone will be happy that we found a good backup in White for our FQB.

MUCH easier to put Zach into a game where White is faltering than to simply start Zach when the Jets and fans have seen 5 consecutive promising quarters of Mike White (until that minor injury).  White has not yet done anything to make people lose confidence in him.... but, that could happen.  If it does then putting Zach into the game at Halftime following White have a 3 INT first half or something wouldn't be questioned.

I'd play White until Wilson is 100%.  If White continues to be the player he has been so far, you keep playing him.  

A first round tender will scare off any prospective teams looking to poach.  

Then it's open competiton next fall with a short leash the winner.

I think this is right.  No reason to rush Zach back - let him get to fully 100%

And yes, if White continues to play lights out football you have to leave him in...

but, If White shows competence and plays well, but it also becomes clear he does not have the skill-set to be a legitimate franchise QB then you need to go back to Zach.

Right now is about finding a FQB....
