Pro Agility: 3.94 seconds*
Three Cone: 6.84 seconds*

8.5 sacks playing a hybrid role. Any reason why he cant play the EDGE on 3rd downs? Elite combine metrics. Plays with his hair on fire.  Why not him in round 1?

He's not a first round pick, never mind the 4th overall.

Weaknesses

  • Tightly bound with limited lateral agility.
  • Lacks speed and explosive burst in pursuit.
  • More guessing than recognition of blocking schemes.
  • Lacks desired instincts and discipline navigating through traffic.
  • Still plenty of room for growth with technique.
  • Fooled by misdirection and misses cut-back development.
  • Below-average coverage option in man or zone on passing downs.

Not in the first round but if he’s there in the second definitely Would be a good fit to help the porous run defense and as an blitzer up the middle

Not trying to pat myself on the back because I took these two guys in our mock for the Browns, but tell me what you think of Nick Bonitto and Nick Cross S. Bonitto had the 3rd best win rate last year (tied with Hutch, by the way), and Cross is a freak athlete . Not necessarily these two, but I'm starting to get the feeling that our picks are going to be guys like this, off the main grid types. Just good, solid players, maybe without some of the hype.

Looks good.  Another LB that would be perfect for the 4-2-5.  Brian Asamoah

He's the ideal guy to flex between the second and third level of a 4-2-5

Feels like Bonitto and karlaftis are undervalued compared to what they are going to be at the next level.

seems to me there is a bit of a disconnect in this scouting report

Tightly bound with limited lateral agility.

well then how the **** did he accomplish 6.84 cone?

Lacks speed and explosive burst in pursuit.

uhm 40 Yard Dash: 4.53 seconds and uhm Three Cone: 6.84 seconds*

Still plenty of room for growth with technique.

how is this a weakness and not an opportunity?

Below-average coverage option in man or zone on passing downs.

I've said it a million times and will probably say it a million more...love this LB class.  Chenal is a big reason why.

Because it proves once again that you can’t make these judgements strictly off of combine test scores

The top of Round 2 is looking like an absolute sweet spot for a LB.  Lots of worthy prospects.  The Jets could have their choice of the entire group outside of Nakobe Dean and Devin Lloyd.  Guys like Chenal, Christian Harris, Quay Walker, Chad Muma should all be in the mix.  Could probably even trade back from #38 and get one.

Isnt Bonito “undraftable” due to off field issues?

One of these edge guys was referred to this way and i dont know why. Supposed to be real good

I never heard that one.  I thought Bonitto was a 3-4 rounder based mainly on being a tweener with no real position that can't play the run and isn't much when dropping back.  Anybody have info on off-field stuff?

Agree 100%. Kind of the same way pick #4 is the sweet spot for an OT....if the Jets want one.

I find him being one of our picks in alot of the mocks I do on PFF.

In round 2.

For whatever value that is worth, lol.

Same.

If we cannot have Devin Lloyd, then I’m very good with Chenal in 2 or a guy like Beavers in 3. There are a lot of really talented LBs in this draft.
