This whole deal does but the trade off is win-now with a 2 year window and a shot. High risk/high reward. I don’t think it’s necessary. Why would we agree to throw away a first round pick with a year of solid experience under his belt when we’ve been looking for an Edge for years? Makes no sense. The guy is already an elite run stopper and has plenty of upside as a pass rusher. Bakhtiari’s trade value by itself is about a third round pick given his age, injury history and contract value. They can ask for as much as they want and say "Well it's either this price or Jimmy G for you". Probably one of the reasons why it's not happened yet, as the Packers are asking for more than the Jets are willing to pay, but NY doesn't exactly have another option.
