Saleh will never change

Keep adding pieces to the defense while ignoring the need at WR

You don't think it's a whole team of guys talking in a conference room deciding who they should try to bring to the team? It's just saleh saying no offense all defense?

Wasn't one of the main arguments for letting Huff go supposed to be getting more time on the field for Will McDonald?

Not sure how signing Clowney to replace Huff would square with that one.

Maybe McDonald will become the situational (3rd down) pass rusher ala Huff was in his Jets career? Clowney more of an every down player

New this morning: Jadeveon Clowney’s visit with the #Jets is now penciled in for Wednesday, per sources.

His plans were fluid before, thus the previous framing including caveats

AM Post: The current plan is for Jadeveon Clowney to visit the #Jets “Monday or Tuesday” as of this early morning, via text from a source. I’m sure it’ll get narrowed down shortly.

New: I’m told Jadeveon Clowney is visiting the #Panthers Thursday, per source.

Why are edges addictive to this current regime? I swear, someday the police are going to catch Saleh and JD doing lines of edges in some bathroom at a truck stop.

Same reason Rex liked CB's.  Rex's defense was predicated on having CBs that can hold up in perpetual press-man while the second and third levels of the defense line up at the LOS and overload blitz.  Skill at the third level and swarm forward with the first and second levels.  Pressure, pressure, pressure.  Saleh's defense is predicated on getting pressure and stopping the run at the first level with four guys.  Skill needed and lots of fresh manpower.  Pass rushing skill on the ends and big, disruptive beef on the inside.  All gas, no breaks.  It is key to keep them fresh so they can go at it each time with intensity.  The second and third level's of the defense act as one big bee swarm.  Speed, speed, speed. You need LB's with great closing speed, because they are reactive and not attacking.   That is how a well manned 4-2-5 works.  You need fresh DTs and DEs, fast LB's along with smart and instinctive DB's

Never liked the guy until last year.

I'm a believer edge defenders who have bend.

The Clown has no bend. He gets it done with take off, power

and relentless effort, I guess there are more than one way to pull

a chicken's salami!

Clowney would be an excellent get but I don’t think he’s signing a contract today. The guys a true mercenary - the new Suh. He will go to the highest bidder and I’m not 100% sure that’ll be the Jets today

Clowney is good against the run, he's more of an every down player than Huff

Meh, use any money we have left on WR, OL, Ashtyn Davis & backup RB.

We used a first rounder on McDonald and have JJ, JFM, and Clemons (who should go back to his rookie weight).

That’s enough Saleh.  Solid Defensive Coaches don’t need studs at every position.  Prove your Defensive worth and stay out of JD’s office until round 4 or 6 where he’ll get your D some depth.

But the argument was that Huff wasn’t an every down player.  Are we saying that the Jets used our first round pick last year on a pass rush specialist?

If I’m Woody (and thank God I’m not):

”Sorry Bob.  The decision to use our remaining budget on O was made last year when you drafted Will McDonald AND set records for most inept Offense in the modern era.  Now close the door and grab my grandson some milk and cookies before you head out to the links.”

I mean I like Clowney well enough but how many dineman do we need?

We have a HUGE hole at safety right now as in a gaping one.  I do NOT want to use anything but a late round pick on safety.  Too much value in WR and oline in this draft.

We have a hole at 3rd safety.

Tony Adams and Chuck Clark are the starters.

Sign Ashtyn back and that problem is solved.
