jetscrazey
Finally got the shutdown corner needed for Bowles to run his defense. That was the biggest thing they needed on D. Now they will draft OLB in the 1st round and the defense will work itself out. Now to shift focus to offense: still need a QB (Fitzpatrick) and a playmaking skill player (Spiller? re-sign Harvin?) SoFlaJets
My daughter found this from 12 months ago.... This is a long term plan. The Jets trade Revis to the Bucs to gather 2 additional draft picks. Revis becomes too much to handle, and refuses to lower his pay for any trades, instantly screwing the Bucs, making them drop him. He heads over to the Patriots the next year for exactly 1 year. He learns the ins and outs of the organization, the plays, the coaching, the cheating. When he becomes a free agent again next offseason, the Jets welcome him back with open arms, and Revis shares every little bit of intel he gathered, so the Patriots will never win another game against the Jets again. j4jets
Not a bad contract,at all Age is the only concerning factor. I see this as a 3 years, 48mil deal.

ChuckkieB
Revis has played free agency better than just about anyone I've ever seen in the NFL. Good for him! Revis Island is back!!!!!
Integrity28
Essentially a 3 year deal for 39 million, I think. Edit: Oh, essentially a two year deal for 39 million. Oh, **** yeah...Players need to hire Revis' guys. No doubt, lol

Tony The Wiz
Our Defensive weakness last year? CBs --- Check Our Offensive Weakness last year? WRs, Guard and QB ---- Check except QB At this point, If the cap permits, I'd be hunting down the Saints FO for Brees. If not, then pick up Mariotta and take your chances with someone as talented. Totally agreed.
SenorGato
That's how I interpret it. I "think" it's a solid deal. For the Jets it is no doubt a great deal, they only gain from this. For Revis, it's as good as the NFL will allow to happen. Relatively speaking to just the NFL, it's pretty damn good.
HessStation
It's amazing how much potential talent we have on this roster that is stuck in what if limbo. Agreed. It would be incredible if Milliner and Pryor could live up to expectations. Just wishful thinking but...

FidelioJet
Pretty good contract for the Jets too, IMO. In what way is this a pretty good contract for the Jets? They got their man but nothing is good about this contract - they paid through the teeth. I can't imagine anyone else was close to this - They made it clear it was Revis or bust - and Revis knew it and held them hostage. It's insane. j4jets
Basically we loaned out Revis for two years while we tried to add up some cap space, and then got him back...along a DRoY. Not bad.

BroadwayJoe12
Revis and Skrine instantly make this an elite secondary, but if either Milliner or McDougle return to health, could battle for first overall.
GenoandtheJets
They way overpayed Mr.Revis. 5 years 70million. 39 million guaranteed. That's a contract that I have only seen the late George Steinbrenner give to a free agent once. It's like a Yankees contract.

I hope Browner finds a new team too. It will further hurt the Patriots secondary. Marshall and Decker would have an absolute field day.
