I wouldn’t have been against him making the 53, but I don’t think he’d be nearly as touted by the fanbase if he didn’t play with Darnold in college. I don’t mind the Jets scouring the waiver wire for someone with more upside. We already have two slot receivers on the roster as is between Crowder and Dortch. The darnold connection is behind 50% of my desire to retain him. The other 50% is that he can actually play. But I would love to see a guy like jaylon smith get In here or some others.
