Popular Post predator_05
Not that we aren't psychologically prepared for being a bottom of the barrel, perennially underachieving team...but given the way this off-season has gone, i'm not sure rebuilding teams are capable of being competitive. Unusual off-seasons provide an advantage to teams with continuity, both in personnel and leadership. A few preseason games would have trimmed some of the flab, but without them...we're walking into a new season like a drunk schlub stumbling around for a dollar to take the subway home. Disgruntled players, opt-outs, injuries, lack of 'chemistry' (i hate that phrase, btw), means the team will land flat on its face week 1. Only silver lining is the double-dip in the first round, but that's a long way off. Am I exaggerating, or is this team (and coaching staff) better than i think?
CSNY
Hard to say but as I have stated in other threads a lot of the success depends on how fast o line gels. I believe it will be as bad as it was last year for the first 6-8 games of season and as year goes by they become a more cohesive unit and there fore more wins. Also need to get a couple of more competent receivers. 1

LockeJET
This team lacks top talent at very important positions. We upgraded on paper but that means squat. We are depending on a lot of players who've either never played for us or never played in the league yet. 2 years away IMO 3

Saul Goodman
Well in a passing league, we have a bottom-3 group of receivers and cornerbacks. And five new offensive linemen. We are basically asking Darnold to make this team win.
Popular Post Barry McCockinner
Garbage roster, garbage head coach. What do you think? 9 2
TheClashFan
I think the key is just to look at the team as in a real rebuild mode. We finally have a GM that seems to realize that. If the team surprises and makes the playoffs, look at that as a pleasant happening. But, expect the team to struggle. I fully expect the OL to be better, but still not "good" this year, b/c that may take time. If JD can draft well, the Jets could be good in a couple of years. That's the hope right now. I'm eager to see all the new draftees and which players develop this year to build off for next year. Also, is Gase up to the task? I'm still not optimistic about him, but I hope he changes my mind about that.

Skeet Ulrich
Team has one of the lowest talent levels in the NFL and isn't really coached all that well. If you're expecting a 10 win season be prepared to be disappointed.
Popular Post GreekJet
Remember 2012 when the Jets didn’t score a TD until week 4 of the preseason and then put up 40 on a Buffalo week 1? Its hard to read too much into a scrimmage, preseason, or week 1. Let’s avoid hot takes. 4

kdels62
No. We’re not terrible. We’re not good. We’re mediocre. We scrimmaged today without our top 3 outside receivers. We’ve only had 3 fully padded practices. Luckily the OL wasn’t picked on or called out by the beat writers, that’s possibly the most important thing.

I felt like we were promised (in sentiment if nothing else) for a change in this years draft... true "offense is a priority"... what did that equate to? a LT (basically no choice there), waited until the last min draft a WR in the 2nd round, and a middle round RB. Nice.

Drew Lock is loaded in Denver, Sam wishes he had half of what Drew has right now.
