Does watching Dowell Loggains call plays increase the chances that Lawrence declares for the Draft and doesn’t demand a trade if Jets take him 1st?

Hopefully Loggains and Gase are gone long before it comes to that.

So they would trade the pick to someone who would take Lawrence.

Yeah... the way Burrow is playing?  Absolutely.

Trade for a haul and build around him.

Frankly, Burrow is so good... they will start winning these close games anyway.  Cincinnati will not have the first pick.

Here is the real dilemma. The longer the Jets allow Gase to continue to work as HC, the greater the odds of these things happening:

1) that the jets finish 0-16 and win the Lawrence Lottery;

2) that anyone who cares about Lawrence and/or his successful future as an NFL QB does everything in their power to steer Lawrence away from the NY Jets due to the perception (or reality) that they have done harm to Sam Darnold’s chances of success and development.

Jax is the competition. That's who we need winning games

I think that there is only 1 team in the league TL would prefer even less than the Jets.  Jacksonville.

They suck, questionable Head Coach, and play in a very small market.  Far less endorsement opportunities than in NY.

Next week is the Tank Superbowl.

Jax plays Texans.  This is Jax last best chance to get another win.  If they lose they will finish 1-15, meaning the JETS CAN NOT WIN A SINGLE GAME due to SOS they would lose the tiebreaker to Jax.

JAX MUST WIN NEXT WEEK against the Texans.  Next week.  That's it. That's the season.

Remember that the Jets will have a new coach long before draft day. Plenty of time to make the sales pitch to Trevor about a new direction.

You can't worry about it. The chances are still good that Lawrence declares for the draft and plays for whoever has the top pick, for a variety of practical reasons.

IF Lawrence really does burn the Jets, then you take Fields or trade the pick for possibly the biggest draft pick haul in NFL history. The top pick is what we need, regardless of what happens.

Lawrence played HS football in a small town in SEC country (Cartersville, GA), about a 5.5 hour drive away from Jacksonville.  There's not much pressure playing in Jacksonville, either.

I wouldn't automatically assume he'd prefer the Jets to the Jaguars.

Not going 0-16. The Jets offense actually functions when all of the receivers are heathy. And the defense was missing Quinnen tonight.

Not too many chances for a win left on the schedule.

@Chargers? Raiders? Dolphins? @Patriots?

What games do you think we have a shot in?
