They've never steered me wrong. They told me the Jets would draft Hackenberg, they told me the Jets would draft Becton, they've given me a lot of info over the years. That's not to say they've always been right (i.e. they told me the Jets were definitely trading down in 2019 and that never happened, they told me they thought the Jets were going to hire Rhule and that didn't happen), but have always had solid info and opinions. They've made it clear that this is just their hunch, so I don't want to jump the gun but it's absolutely relevant.

Saleh would be a good hire. He has an excellent reputation and will likely bring the shanahan offensive system over here. He is a high energy guy. I see him as a rex type but more intelligent and without the goofiness.

Technically coordinators are not allowed to. I don't know, it sounds stupid to me. Just like the rest of this covid sensationalist nonsense. Also, I never said they wanted to go meet Saleh specifically. They want to meet their finalists for second rounds of interviews, whoever they wind up being.

Truth is, nobody knows how good he’ll be as HC.

Very well thought of around the league, his players love him (Richard Sherman, who isn’t backward in coming forward, raves about him which I really like), and seems the leadership sort - energetic, passionate without being stupid, focused etc....

 

Might not be successful, but at least makes sense as a hire and a whole lot more successful than Gase two years ago.
