Joe Thuney and Corey Linsley is *not* a one or the other proposition for the Jets. If Thuney were to accept the Jets offer, they would still be interested in Linsley 👀

Stage I [Jets fail to spend $200 million in the first six hours of free agency; JN blows out its collective diaper]: COMPLETE Stage II [Jets sign a bunch of second- and third-tier FAs; JN begins

Well, to be fair, the Cardinals want to protect their investment in Kyler Murray.  And, the Chiefs want to protect their QB Patrick Mahomes.  For some reason they think keeping their QBs upright will help them win football games.  I dunno.  Kinda crazy.

The Jets want to save some money and see if they can ruin a Top 3 drafted QB from 2018 and for an encore, maybe ruin a Top 2 drafted QB from 2021.

Given that much money, would you rather go to the Chiefs and compete for the SB, or go to the team drafting #2 in the draft?

Jets o-line:

constant hurt becton, Kyle long out of retirement, Khalil again out of retirement, bring back JVR and maybe George Fant.

god damn being a Jets fan is terrible.

lol @ JVR.

I'm starting to call GVR (Greg Van Roten) the VCR because he plays like he's old and slow.

The problem is that we have been so bad for so long that it is hard to attract the top guys.

The player is in control in FA.  He can choose where he wants to play.  We have not sniffed the playoffs in 10 years.  Unless we outbid everyone, why is a guy going to come here.  And when we have been the highest bidder in recent years, it hasn't exactly worked out well.

But that said, it is JD's job to sell his vision for the team to agents and FAs and so far he hasnot demonstrated the ability to do that. Only a few hours into FA and really only one of our major targets is gone, but its another frustrating start.

I get it but if that’s why Joe has a fcking Millionaire salary. Any a$$hole can sit in a Booth with binoculars and point to people and say I want him… You have to be able to negotiate with an agent and talked him into getting their guy here for an extra 5 million in guarantees spread out over four years.

Horsesh*t. Linsley now to the chargers.

It's hard to knock the GM when we have no idea what the player was actually looking for.

He can pitch a wonderful vision to the guy but as the player looks to the other side and sees an established QB, better location/better team overall, for just about the same money...can't put much blame on these guys.

Zeitler was the one that got away. 8m/yr guard scooped up by the Ravens when we were asleep and putting our eggs into the Thuney basket.

Ravens and Chiefs getting better, we're hanging around waiting on leftovers.

Linsley to the Chargers. Disaster complete.

We shouldn’t offer the same money. All these guys are getting record breaking deals. We have to offer the most money.

I’m not having a meltdown yet. The Jets can get very good prospects at interior OL and WR at 23 and 34.

Can’t wait to draft two lineman with those picks to watch Zach Wilson throw to Braxton Berrios
