If the Jets are capitalizing on this opportunity, they can’t be using a draft pick for another QB, at least in 2023 when they have a lot of roster holes to fill.   So basically, in 2025 they will try and field a team without a QB and short $35mm of cap space.  I don’t think we should kid ourselves into thinking that Zach Wilson will be playing on the 5th year option, Franchise tag, or extended contract.  

So this is 2009-2010 all over again, potentially.  The Jets will clearly be more entertaining and competitive.  Hopefully we can keep players like Garrett W and Sauce in the warehouse to play when the Jets get competitive again.

In a perfect world, the Jets would find a QB in the draft in 2024 who can play in 2025, cheap.  

Two SB followed by 1 and 16 and a first pick in 2026 when Manning comes out early.   3 D chess baby.

I don't know enough about these things but my understand is this stuff gets announced and just becomes effective on that date.  But maybe not and we'll here the announcement on the 17th.

Yeah.  There's a line where a player's personal life makes it untenable to still be a pro football player.  Obviously those are up for discussion on a case by case basis.  

But there's a lot of gray area between "nice boy" and "irredeemable human being".  Rodgers is just a mildly frustrating weirdo.  He's not a raging criminal.  So who cares?  Win some f**king games and no one will remember any of this.
