Popular Post Nixhead
The Jets need to come out running - not hoping that everything works. Rodgers needs some game time with the starting O-line and receivers and Yes the Jets need their starting O-line out there with Rodgers. Might be too much but I'd like to see him play 1st half of preseason game 2 and 1st half of preseason game 3 - all with our starters.
doitny
agreed. he needs to get work in real time and it cant be week 1. i say 1st qt in week 2 and 1st half in week 3.
Beerfish
Most people will holler for no preseason time at all. We saw what happened last year. You can bubble wrap and guy and he can be out play 4. 1 quarter in week 2, 1 half in week 3
y2k8
He should play at least a series in each game. And whatever the "dress rehearsal" game is now (used to be 3rd game (when 4 were played), he should play at least a few drives up to a full half. He needs to knock the rust off.

Popular Post Joe W. Namath
He should play in 2 games. 2-3 series in each game. If you get hurt in the preseason, you werent making it through the regular season anyway. Dont live in fear. 5

bicketybam
Rodgers will be 59 in JN years and his last good season was 39 years ago. I wouldn't play him at all

Getting hit and hitting helps condition the body. If it was a team with the same returning players it might be different. Play all starters in every game for at least a quarter.

Bronx
All starters should play one quarter on the last pre-season game. Unfortunately, we might be playing the Giants once again, which is absurd.
SomebodytoAnybody47
I’m fine with doing the same as he did last year. Just that Giants game. Don’t need much.

Warfish
I still like the old ways. 1-2 drives PS week 1. 1-2 Quarters PS week 2. 1 Quarter maybe PS week 3. Harder to do the real old way with one less PS game, lol. But some kind of phased up approach, so he's really ready to play 60 week1. If he gets hurt, he gets hurt. If he does, it was likely bound to happen anyway tbqh. Never coddle. Play and compete.

Mogglez
3 quarters spread amongst 3 games. Keep the plays safe and don’t expose him too much, but try to work the butterflies out. He got hurt because he had butterflies and there’s a decent chance he’s more amped up in his first live game this year than he was last year. Week 1 being an away game may not be the worst situation in the world in that regard. 2
FootballLove
The key is to pull your starters and skill players one play BEFORE they get injured! It's so obvious....
Popular Post T0mShane
Rodgers got hurt last year because 1. Keith Carter called for Brown to cut block which, apparently, no one saw as an issue until they saw Rodgers taking live bullets behind those cut blocks and 2. Rodgers opting to try for a deep shot, passing up a wide open Garrett Wilson right in front of him. IMO, Rodgers not playing enough in preseason contributed to him getting wrecked and the offense looking like a pick-up game most of the year. 5
GreenFish
The last time Aaron Rodgers played in a preseason game was August 16th 2018. Pre-Covid and Pre two MVPs. How many snaps will he take in the preseason? Zero How many snaps should he take? 1 series maybe. But I'm fine with zero.

LOL No i am saying he was injured after 4 plays and that can happen in preseason or game one of a season. People wanted him to not play a snap in preseason and then he gets hurt on play 4. Rangers9
He barely played last preseason and still got injured. But I agree not much exposure in exhibition games. A series or two.

Rodgers got hurt because his foot and leg were caught in the wrong position. Blaming it on him trying to complete a longer pass than a short pass is the ultimate game of second guessing. Then to extend it to blaming his lack of preseason time is crazy. What would he gain beyond what he got in practice time? We're just looking for reasons, ignoring what was right in front of us. It’s football, shlt happens.
Asymmetrical
there's a ton of new players on offense. They should play the starters a little bit, 3 games in ten days doesn't leave much practice time and I don't particularly care for the idea of waiting until week 7 or 8 for everyone to understand what they're doing.

After the play, it was suspiciously reported that Rodgers dislikes cut blocks because they rob him of the ability to improvise. On the replay, you see Wilson flashing wide open in front of Rodgers, but he’s holding the ball waiting for Uzomah to drag his ass down the seam. Floyd easily sidesteps the cut block attempt by Brown, has all day to jump on Rodgers’s back because Rodgers is frozen in space for some reason. In fact, it takes so long for Floyd to get to Rodgers that Brown is already back on his feet wondering what happened as Rodgers is getting twisted into the turf. I am suggesting that maybe the timing on the play is bad because these guys didn’t practice enough all summer and through the preseason. At the very least, maybe they could have sorted out the “hey maybe we don’t cut block ends on quick slants that don’t get thrown for some reason” thing before it ended their season.
