WowOhWow
I'd have to believe there are numerous FA's waiting to see if ARod signs with the Jets. Any thoughts on who is holding out and who might join our squad once this gets ironed out?

Darnold Schwarzenegger
https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/03/28/woody-johnson-im-not-patient-jets-have-to-win-now/ Woody Johnson: I’m not patient, Jets have to win now Posted by Michael David Smith on March 28, 2023, 4:08 PM EDT Jets owner Woody Johnson expects his team to win, and win this year. Johnson said today at the league meeting that the Jets need to be in win-now mode. “I’m not the patient sort. We’re in the win business. We have to win now,” Johnson said, via Zack Rosenblatt of TheAthletic.com. It’s easy to see why Johnson feels that way, although saying so publicly may not be the best move as the Jets and Packers continue to negotiate over an Aaron Rodgers trade. The Jets want the Packers to think they’re willing to wait as long as it takes for the Packers’ price to come down, and Johnson admitting publicly that he’s not patient helps Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst’s leverage with Jets General Manager Joe Douglas. Still, Johnson said the Jets have a plan in place and he believes that Rodgers will be a Jet. “We’re pretty confident we can get something done,” Johnson said. Johnson also said he’s excited about the possibility of the Jets signing free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. He’s telling his football people to get to work on win-now moves.

prime21
Reports say Saleh stopped communication with a young brat in Elijah last year. Imagine if Odell has one of his moments on and off the field. How is he going to handle a veteran brat?

If he’s a distraction… he doesn’t play. So it’s in his best interest to behave.

You bring in these talented guys who might have some character concerns and if they act up and don’t produce just get rid of them

GreenFish
My wishlist is Prior to the draft: OBJ WR, Ben Jones C, Ezekiel Elliot RB, Kwon Alexander LB and Calais Campbell iDL Post draft: Greg Gaines iDL, Randall Cobb WR Draft an OT and C with first two picks. Restructure contracts and let’s go win some championships. Not one. Not two. Not three. Well maybe just three actually. rangerous
My guess is most of the top free agents already are where they want to be. The jets may be able to hold onto their own guys like Kwon or even McGovern if they chose to keep them. The Rodgers rumors didn’t keep Jeff smith from going elsewhere nor did it change Moores mind about wanting a trade.
FidelioJet
The entire league - which includes all of the FA's and their agents KNOW Rodgers is coming to the Jets. It's not holding anything up.
rex-n-effect
This seems at odds with what he said after the end of the season about leaving football decisions to football people. This doesn't seem like a Douglas move but who really knows. For Douglas and Saleh, if this doesn't turn out well at least they can both point to these statements as proof they didn't make the decision to bet it all on a forty year old QB. If Rodgers isn't a Jet this year, then Douglas is either looking to the draft or a trade. I would be completely surprised to see a last minute scramble for Matt Ryan or some other castoff nobody else wants.
