AFJF
Per Rap sheet...Jets and Reddick's agents had a deal worked out that would have allowed him to get all of his money back that he'd lost in fines to go along with a pay raise to make him "more than whole". Joe D and agents agreed on the deal and Reddick shot it down. Reddick Killed Deal that Joe Douglas and Reps had in Place (jetnation.com) From Rap sheet's article. The deal was all but worked out with his former agents at CAA and Jets management, sources say. Reddick, who is on the hook for millions and millions in fines, had a contract offer that would have given him the opportunity to make up for the fines and make more money than he was originally scheduled to earn.

If he didn’t want to play just for the Jets he would accept the offered deal because it was only for this season, it made up for the fines and he would be free to walk at the end of the season.

This go’s well beyond not wanting to play for the Jets, though that’s not entirely wrong. In I’m guessing he might have other things like his business issue with the healthcare company and is simply compounding bad decision with worse decisions people seem to do when in over their heads. 3 1

BallinPB
At this point I think he’s just no longer interested in playing football. If that’s the case then why wouldn’t he just retire? This absolutely makes no sense and is probably the dumbest holdout in history.

The Jets get bought by what you think is Johnson & Johnson, so you automatically think (well at least I did), that Everything will be 1st Class, no expense spared with the Best Coaches available on the Jet sidelines. But No, it’s Not Johnson & Johnson it’s the Blacksheep of the Family, the guy who went to Arizona State while the rest of his Family went to Harvard….. It’s 🎉Woody Johnson 🎉, who now presides over a “Poverty” Franchise, in NYC of all places. How is that even possible haha?

JoeNamathsFurCoat
Hasson hates the Jets more than Beliscum Douglas was even willing to compromise to get this done but Reddick must be demanding 25 or 30M per At this point you simply can’t pay him Way too risky

LAD_Brooklyn
Reddick just seen Burns get paid $28M. He wants a multiple years guarenteed in that range. No one year patch which his CAA representatives tried to line him up with. That's been Reddick's stance all along and JD felt he can change that and JD was wrong. That is amazing because when the fines started puling up I didn't think there would be a way to even accomplish that. They did and he still said no. I fear he just doesn't want to play football and doesn't know how to say it.

Long Island Leprechaun
At least the Jets can feel a bit better about their judgment, given that Reddick fooled his agents as well. Overall, the situation sucks, but Reddick would not be the Jets' savior anyway. He would have been an asset on the field, but god knows what he'd do in the locker room. Truly a mess.
