mrcoops 4,563 #7 Posted March 24, 2020 Oh well. Hope the Jets weren't relying on Dorsett as Robby insurance. On to Perriman?
Lith 17,027 #8 Posted March 24, 2020 Oh well. Really thought we would keep him. WR at 11 just got more likley. Which may not be a bad thing. Edit: WR at 11 and again on day 2. 10 1

BroadwayRay 2,564 #11 Posted March 24, 2020 Robby has a history with Matt Rhule from his days at Temple. They're close. I'm betting that's why he went there. Do any of you geniuses out there know if we'll get a comp pick out of this?
usanyj 1,055 #12 Posted March 24, 2020 Surprised we couldn’t keep him at such a low price. He definitely didn’t get paid like he thought he would’ve

Ohio State NY Jets fan 2,580 #14 Posted March 24, 2020 cheaper contract than expected - figured Jets would keep him at that number
T0mShane 137,322 #15 Posted March 24, 2020 So it’s basically a one-year, $12 million dollar deal, presuming the guarantee is the $12mm? Meh. Good luck to him
Rangers9 1,922 #16 Posted March 24, 2020 It's not a big deal. He can be replaced. I thought the Jets could match that money but either Robby wanted to leave or the Jets just didn't want to pay him. He played for Matt Rhule at Temple.
Jetlife33 4,568 #17 Posted March 24, 2020 Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter · 2m New Panthers’ WR Robby Anderson played at Temple for Matt Rhule. New Panthers’ QB PJ Walker played at Temple for Mart Rhule.

ScarletKnight89 3,439 #20 Posted March 24, 2020 I wonder if Joe D will look to trade for a receiver now. There aren't a lot of options on the open market that are all that appealing. Perriman might be an option, but he's hardly enough. The draft is a crap shoot even though people claim it's loaded with receivers. Sam needs a proven target that he can throw to. With Robby, he at least had chemistry with him.
FidelioJet 7,454 #21 Posted March 24, 2020 That’s really bad. We now have not a single weapon on the entire team. Are we all still in love the JD? 3 15 3

Yeah, we lost a good player but not a great one. He was our best WR, but that's not saying much. He's a good #2 or a great #3, who wanted to be paid like a star. Sorry we lost him, but we move on - hopefully with a FA like Perriman and a high draft pick at the position.
Ohhthepain 1,910 #30 Posted March 24, 2020 Brutal...that's a reasonable deal. No reason we couldnt have done the same, unless RA just would have rather reunited with Rhule.

Jetlife33 4,568 #34 Posted March 24, 2020 Ian Rapoport @RapSheet The #Panthers giving WR Robby Anderson $12M in year helped land the former #Jets WR, and for Anderson, he’ll be a free agent again at 29 years old. Anderson ends up with his old college coach, Matt Rhule.
