Three games in a little early to say.  But this organization has much bigger problems than three average contracts given to players who may or may not live up to them

Mike Tannenbaum’s tenure in the Jets front office is the best stretch the Jets ever had.

Shall we ignore the 10 million investment last year in a washed up center and not able to get a kicker by opening day that cost us wins?

It cost you nothing. You don’t play for or represent the Jets.

I'd respond with gifs of all the "great" moves our GMs have made since Tanny.. but no ones got time for that.

You realize he was hired after the draft and free a bench last year right?

Yeah, he is wrong, because the guaranteed money tied up in those contracts is no where near $20 million. But Caporoso never lets the details get in the way of a juicy tweet headline.

Only Hackenberg tops that one in terms of it being an obvious failure before it began. Gase would be a close 3rd.

SAD but true however, I believe Tanny was pushed around by the HC. Under Mangini he drafted well.  after that.... was below average.

Problem with tanny was he went all in for a couple seasons. Any time you go all in you have to hope that you either win it all, or you drafted well enough for when you get in cap trouble.

Problem with his drafting was he traded away picks all the time and so if he didnt nail every pick we were screwed. Then that 2010 draft happened. Complete disaster.

Again.....tell me I’m wrong or maybe it’s because I sit behind the field goal area and watched some dude who never kicked in Metlife before miss easy kicks that cost us the bills jets opener

Pushed around? No. I think “lap dog” is the more appropriate description.

Tanny was good when Mangini was the HC.  Mangini and his staff were good at evaluating talent and drafting.  Tanny was the cap guy and worked the contacts.  When Rex was the HC, he and his staff were horrible at evaluating talent and drafting.  Tanny did the same thing with Rex that he did with Mangini.  Tanny went along with what the coaches wanted.

Mangini was a good defacto GM

Rex was a disaster as a defacto GM

Tanny was along for the ride and contract language.

He too was a Gase fan!  And it may be that Gase got him fired there.  He was fired and Gase stayed.

Valid criticism.

He is going to be good and turn things around but he has made mistakes.
