Probably the most disturbing signing Mac has made. Sterling should retire. He's had too many concussions and could wind up years later, as someone who can't remember where he lives. He isn;t close to being a focal point in this offense. WHY!!!!!!!!

I'm tired of people talking about this guys "potential". He's been in the league 4 years and played in 35 games with only 24 rec. For a guy who is supposed to be a receiving TE that's not good. I wish they would bring in a real option as a backup to Herndon.

I'd take a guess that he could have made more money elsewhere, but there are others incentives for him to stay.

The 27-year-old Copeland, who had his first taste of the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2013, is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s prestigious Wharton School of Business and is quite aware of the finite nature of football careers. That’s why Copeland has interned multiple times on Wall Street and also runs a real-estate business with his wife, Taylor.

Can Mo Claiborne be far behind?

Truth is, I am hoping for this to happen.  It's probably a FA market value thing. I'm thinking they told him to go test the water to establish is value out there, and that wed love a shot at matching it to keep him here. He's another one with the talent to do the job that just seemed disinterested later in the season. The team was essentially mailing it in and he was one of those.

Not forgiving it, but he's a solid number 2 CB.

This guy flashed freaking big time if anybody was watching? Total package and clutch. Unfortunately the injury bug bit him but I would keep him and Herndon. Put Leggett on the practice squad and see if we can find an upgrade for Tomlinson as a blocking tight end

Freaking big time?

Good signing.  Nice to have a reasonable floor at the position.  I am a little perplexed that @JetFaninMI felt the need to include not one, but two pictures of JP Pelzman in his post, and even more concerned that @jetstream23 included them both when he quoted it.  I feel like I need a shower.

Like I said in another post nothing is free.

Do we really need 3 TE?

Yes, since 1 needs to double up as a full back. That is usually the pure blocking TE. The other 2 have to catch well. We already have Herndon and Leggett for that, but Leggett is OK at that and needs competition, while Sterling is better at catching, but as stated has injury concerns. These are reasons why 4 TEs right now can become 3 or less later on.

[Sterling] became a UFA earlier this month before re-signing with the Green & White, filling out the tight ends room that wll include Chris Herndon, Eric Tomlinson and Jordan Leggett from last year's roster and free agent Daniel Brown.

This is a position I really wanted to see upgraded. A lot of wheel-spinning here, instead.

Well to quote the greatest Rock n Roll Band of all time "You Can't Always Get What You Want". I think that's Macc's approach to being a GM  It certainly would explain a lot.
