Popular Post Jetsfan80
https://www.nfl.com/news/bold-nfl-predictions-cowboys-roll-seahawks-stumble-pats-collapse Bold NFL predictions: Cowboys roll, Seahawks stumble, Pats collapse Adam Schein NFL.COM CONTRIBUTING COLUMNIST 3) Jets QB Sam Darnold will become a star I still love Darnold. His rookie year was a classic roller-coaster ride, not at all helped by the dreadful offensive coordinating of Jeremy Bates, who was fired -- along with head coach Todd Bowles -- after the season. General manager Mike Maccagnan kept his job through 2019 free agency and the draft -- and then got canned. Because only the Jets. Adam Gase was brought in to maximize New York's second-year quarterback ... and Darnold got mono. But don't let all of this misfortune color your view of the No. 3 pick of the 2018 draft. He still has plenty of promise, especially with competent leadership now in the front office. GM Joe Douglas has shown plenty of promise in a short time on the job, with a calculating, savvy approach. He brilliantly beefed up the offensive line this offseason, adding a whole bunch of big bodies in free agency, then spending the Jets' first-round pick on OT Mekhi Becton. This is how you properly protect a young quarterback, by OVERindulging on O-linemen. Now, Darnold's receiving corps is full of question marks -- which is why this prediction is bold in the first place -- but Douglas did add the explosive Denzel Mims in Round 2 of the draft. Down the stretch last season, after Darnold was recovered from mono, the young QB excelled. From Week 9 through 17, he averaged 245.2 passing yards per game and compiled a 14:5 TD-to-INT ratio, leading the Jets to a 6-3 record. Darnold has every intangible and tangible you want in a true franchise quarterback. And in 2020, it all comes together over the course of a full season. 15

T0mShane
Adam Schein was the afternoon drive guy on Syracuse radio who was doing paid hour-long segments with a local bookie until the FAN and then the NFL Network picked him up, gave him the title “NFL Insider” and, in the entire time since, he’s produced zero memorable content for any one of his unfortunate employers. 2

RoadFan
This narrative that the Patriots will collapse? I just don't get it. They are extraordinarily well-coached, have lots of talent on defense, and always are great on special teams. If the offense is even competent... the Pats win 9 games.

Not when it's Tank for Trevor time. This year they will be giving their opponents video footage of THEIR practices. Patriot Killa
Excited to see Darnold behind a decent OL. I think Becton dominates and pushes people around from the very start. Wish we could of gave Darnold one more reliable target. Hoping the TE’s stay healthy and get plenty involved. Ryan Griffin and Chris Herndon can make up for the lack of bodies at WR.

GKnight83
I think he is right. As we were preparing to reopen our offices, our top 10 Actuaries (all former NYers born and raised so no bias here >wink) found we would be highly confident (better than 90%) that Darnold throws for over 4,000 yards and has a better than 2:1 TD:interception ratio if he starts 14 or more games. Popular Post JustInFudge
Not that this goobers opinion means anything but he's not the only analyst out there that believes this...you've heard Dan Orlosky and many others. All it takes is watching a little Darnold to see what they're talking about, his talent is ridiculous and he's carried the dregs of the NFL while doing it. If he can start mastering the on schedule stuff (OL and weapns play a big part in that), his ceiling is ridiculously high. Now its time to just go do it and prove the support right and the haters wrong. When I look at the future QB stars of the NFL; Mahomes, Watson, Murrary, Jackson - the only thing that holds me back to say that Darnold is right there in a few years, is the fact he plays for the Jets. 6 1
