Hughes: Cashman and Hewitt expected to start at ILB over Williamson

No chance I’m watching an hour long non-porn video, but was Hughes’ entire presumption here based solely on the salary restructure?

Hughes' exact quote:

"He's worked almost exclusively with the 2nd team defense."

And that was all summer.  THEN the pay cut happened.

He also said Cashman has been the team's "best coverage Linebacker."

Whats the matter cant last that long.

What's funny is most people don't last that long when they watch heterosexual porn... because heterosexual porn turns them on to the point of climax.

If you're suggesting that you can "last an hour" watching heterosexual porn, then I have news for you.

This makes sense considering the pay cut. The Jets said you are 2nd team, then the pay cut happened. Beats getting cut I guess.

I fully expect Avery to be starting sooner rather than later. I like Cashman, he was raw last year but more than that his injury history is such a concern. I don't see him holding up.

Hewitt is fine. Williamson probably just doesn't hold up well in coverage and that is the story always with our LBs. They need to cover or we are always a run stop mainly D and not the better pass coverage D.

Hewitt is the worst coverage LB in the league

OBJ scores a 92 harder on him because he took an awful angle.

He do it all the time

It was clear Cashman could play when he was in last year. His issue is the same one that caused him to drop to the 5th round -- his shoulder/rotator cuff is messed up.

How many hopeful guys with injury risks and histories can one team hope to count on?  Availability is a very important criteria for a player.  Would you rather have a B quality guy for 16 games or a B+ guy for 11 games?

I really hope the Jets can find some sort of consistency with the players they put on the field this year.  But I wouldn't be shocked if we end up with something like 8 different starting lineups in 16 games.

Hewitt is awful

Williamson must be pretty bad

A year ago I had really thought this was going to be the strength of the defense with Mosley and Williamson.  Now, neither are starting.

I hope Hewitt and Cashman can get the job done.  Really don't want to see us drafting ILB in the first 3 rounds next year.

I just don't think Joe Douglas is going to waste high draft picks on non-premium positions.  Cheap guys like Onwuasor are the way to go with the position.  Or just switch to more of a 4-3 look like we should have been doing all along.

Is Zuniga more of 4-3 DE?  That could be the first inkling of a plan to head in that direction.  I also think it might suit QW a little better as a 3-technique DT.

Finally, perhaps, a quality mid/late round Macc pick not named Jordan Jenkins.  Hopefully Blessuan Austin and Chris Herndon end up in that category as well.

Same for Wesco and I think Fatukasi is a safe bet to be a force for a while.

He made a mental mistake and tried to sack the angry midget on a WR screen that Greg Williams told him about.  Bad play but not really indicative of coverage skills overall he’s not Darron Lee bad
