This is worse than the Christian Hackenberg situation. Umm. No. A 4th round pick vs an early 2nd? W Nope.

There was value in IOL, CB and WR available, yeah a long shot but a much better chance than Morgan ever seeing the field. That's the only thing that's upset about JD so far. Are you (and others) going to be talking about this 10 years from now? It was one 3rd day draft pick.
Paradis
Fingers crossed for Neal. With the potential lynchpin LB corps we’re putting together, if we can backend that with Maye and Neal - that’s something. They’ll be a lot of hats flying around back there and receivers listening for footsteps.

He was able to trade down and still come away with Mims so I think he had the right to pick who he wanted regardless of position.

varjet
Look at who the Jets passed on in the 3rd and 4th rounds. It’s more than Morgan. It was a fiasco. 3

Alternatively, they draft Wilson at 2, he gets sacked a bunch early on and decides he’d rather take an EVP job at JetBlue, meanwhile Deshaun Watson becomes a Patriots phenom and Penei Sewell is Orlando Pace for the Miami Dolphins. Douglas would be a dead man walking.

Patriot Killa
Neal went for 1 year, 5 million. Low number that I’m sure JD could of matched. Going to assume he was simply more attracted to a better roster in a extremely weak division. Add in no taxes vs NY/NJ taxes. Probably an easy decision. 1

Never bid on players and they will never choose another team instead of us. It is free agency. The player chooses where he wants to go. You bid on players and sign some, others go elsewhere. The player is in control.
