Amari Cooper traded to Browns

Smart move by JD. The guy’s too expensive and with so much draft capital, he’s best off drafting a guy who will grow old with Zach.

20 million will go a long way filling some holes like at RG, and on defensive

I am assuming this was the issue moreso than the trade compensation.  Hopefully he makes good use of that cap space -- we will see in a few days.  Disappointed we didn't get him, but we will say what plays out over the next few days.

His best football is behind him. It’s tantalizing, but ultimately okay. Corey Davis is the same caliber player at this point.

Draft a WR in the top 10.

Please this fat incompetent GM is more than likely sign some cheap a** JAGS in Free agency and draft some later round WR’s!

im so sick of this dude, we have 1 million draft picks coop was worth that gamble IMO

Cooper has had as many 1K seasons as davis has been in the league.  Davis isn’t in the same zip code as Cooper.

LOL.  Corey Davis is NOT the same caliber player as Cooper.  Never was and never will be unless Cooper retires.

I can’t wait to draft Garrett Wilson in round 1 and hear all year about rookie growing pains. Get a proven WR or bust

For a 5th?

Okay, JD faithful.... you have 30 minutes to craft and post your defense of this. lol

Things you're excluded from saying:

1. This was the plan all along!

2. This means Berrios is about to be back

3. They must see something in Denzel Mims

4. The injured Corey Davis is clearly the guy they want as WR1.

5. They must know Elijah Moore won't be injured again.

6. We're going WR at #4 and #10

7. He knows we are tanking again in 2022 for our 'offseason morale' 2023.

Disappointed we didn't get this done for our two fifths. My thoughts why we didnt:

1) His contract

2) We are planning to use those fifths on players from Senior Bowl

3) We actually do have another plan

I'm not gonna lose too much sleep over it,

Bro we could’ve gave a freaking 5th round pick and restructured Coop, JD Is a complete sleeping fat joke!!!!

That doesn't bother anyone? Remember when we stole Santonio Holmes?

Well, actually we did.

The trade for Santonio Holmes was awesome — if we could I’d trade a 5th rounder for a season of a dirt-cheap borderline WR1 in his prime every year.

What sucked was extending him.

wut? What kind of compensation is that?  This doesn't pass the smell test.

Cooper called Dak "The Black Kirk Cousins" and he was on a massive deal with a deadline of the 22nd to cut him.

Cowboys had their back to the wall knowing they had to cut him so they took the best offer.

The price was low and for the Jets not to bite on that offer tells me there was something else factoring into not pursuing him. Perhaps bad scheme fit ? Perhaps JD didn’t want to have Cooper at that annual salary? Who knows?

MY Opinion and conjecture: JD could fork over the capital - a 5th rounder, a 4th even!, but Cooper wasn’t going to be willing to restructure/reduce his contract #s so Jets didn’t bite. ?

Agree with the previous posts, JD now has a big spotlight on what’s his better move for improving the skill positions with all this salary and cap capital, where the possibility of Cooper presented tremendous contract value, veteran leadership, and talent infusion at a skill position IN HOPE of developing a sophomore QB who played like $hit for most of the year and wasn’t too encouraging
