Sure, he likes money, but as a competitor I'm sure he thought to himself, "What the **** did I do?". His actions since signing show he will take any option available to keep from risking further injury or tarnishing his rep as a player. I have doubts that he ever plays another down for the Jets. The Johnson's can be had. Trumaine, Mo, Mosely, Gase, Bowles, Maccagnan etc...the Jets are the early golden parachute for many.

I thought if you opted out you dont get paid this year and the contract just gets extended a year. Whats the point of anyone playing then and not just opting out? If he's getting paid while opting out and running around in bars, cut this a hole NOW and disqualify his contract.

The stipend is like $200k and may be a bit more depending on the player. I'm not sure about that part.

Jetster
No way in hell the guy isn't going out in public, going through drivethrus . He got 10 million in March. It will now be 2 years when or if he plays again, just another free agent feeding at the trough of the NY Jets. You gotta stop the free rides, some of you wanted to sign Clowney? WTF, it's like we never learn!
BurnleyJet
Well spent 10 million bonus in March. What’s the cap implications for cutting him next off season? The opt out really rankled with me. He’s the epitome of a Jets signing. Stealing money, what have we paid so far for a game and half of football? Jimmy 2 Times
Everyone has this wrong. Mosely complained about having to live in a bubble during the season. He didn’t opt out in fear of the virus, he opted out because he knew he couldn’t follow league protocol of social distancing. So going to the bar isn’t a big deal. DetroitRed
I was suspect of him from the jump. Pic means nothing to me. If you have no underlying condition, you should be playing. Anyone dumb enough to think he would have sat out as a rookie? Or if he had to forfeit the 10 mil he got in March?
varjet
For someone like Mosley it made sense for him to sit out, from a financial perspective. If the season was cut short he would lose his guaranteed money, which was substantial. Now that guaranteed money gets push forward to next year. The Jets have to find a way under his contract to basically claim he "retired" and should not be paid more.

I also think he was wasn't 100% healthy no matter what the Jets said. If you go back and read his quotes you never got confidence that he was ready to play.
