Instead of using top pick on WR or Oline, he picked a backup DLineman. Sure Aaron wasn’t on board with that pick
HessStation
I’m a huge Douglas supporter but this keeping Wilson in no matter what, up until this point, this year, is a fireable offense to every single person in the organization. Popular Post Saul Goodman
It can and will get much worse. We’ll probably luck into another win or two, but the remainder of 2023 will be painful. 2024 is going to look just like 2023. Relying on a +40 year old quarterback behind a questionable offensive line. We don’t have enough draft picks and cap space to do a legit overhaul of the offensive line, and they’ll all be playing together for the first time regardless. Likely to have the same coaching staff as well. Think I’ve seen enough of them. Every issue with this team is on Joe Douglas.

Popular Post DoubleDown
This team is trash. If you feel differently, then you likely don't watch many other NFL teams or games. The role players are terrible. The "elite" players find a way to disappoint more often than not. They are nothing special. The number of "successes" on Joe Douglas' list of accomplishments seems to be dwindling by the week. 6

Not sure how you can be a huge Douglas supporter after the crud the Jets have put on tape in the last 12 months. The offence is an all time disaster zone compounded by the fact that Douglas has swung and whiffed on Wilson. His record is 24-52 after today's loss. Any other team and he would have been fired. On the Jets he is allowed to bid against himself and mortgage the future to bring in a 39 year old quarterback to save his job. I would be all for cleaning house the moment the season ends but I suspect that Woody has guaranteed they are all back next year.

Popular Post DoubleDown
Show me the successes. Almost every draft pick is often hurt, overrated, or a flat out bust. The big scores in free agency/trades have been Rodgers, Lazard, Cook, Davis, Uzomah, Conklin, Tomlinson, Fant, McGovern, and Reed. I count one maybe two players who made a meaningful upside impact on the team. He did a decent job of tearing the team down. That was the easy part. If judged objectively, his attempt at building the team back up has been nothing short of a disaster.

Just didn’t work out The problem with the Rodgers plan has never been about just the player, it is everything that went along with the player. That is the big issue. If Rodgers came here as a FA like Brady did to Tampa and then got hurt well sucks for us but bad luck. But along with Rodgers came: - a huge contract. - Multiple high draft picks - Five terrible players Cobb, Lazard, Turner, Boyle, Cook - The worst oc in the league by a country mile in Hackett - No viable backup QB All that came with Rodgers and once he got hurt Douglas and Saleh responded by doing nothing to save the season.

At what point do you stop chalking it up to "bad luck" and start pointing the finger at poor evaluation and process?
