Orlando Brown to KC

Chiefs have really attacked their OLine problem.

Orlando Brown to KC for #31 plus more picks going both ways.

Quote

The Chiefs traded their 2021 first-round pick (No. 31 overall), a third-rounder (94), fourth-round pick (136) and a 2022 fifth-round selection in exchange for Brown and a 2021 second-round pick (No. 58) and a 2022 sixth-round pick.

Joe Douglas take notes...

What, wait till your QB gets his ass kicked in the Super Bowl and is entering his fourth year to sign a bunch of o-line? I hope he doesn’t wait that long.

It’s interesting from the context of what the Jets do in the draft too. Is tackle in play? Seems to fit value wise for 23, high hit rate in the first round, right tackle needs a long-term answer, Becton is hopefully the long-term answer at LT but has a propensity to get injured, and if you hit on both and don’t want to re-sign this year’s first round tackle everyone needs them so you can recoup serous draft capital.

It’s not even fair in the nfl with the chiefs if the league..

Lets hope the NFL doesn’t become as boring as the NBA with just a host of teams with a shot

I'm glad we're not in the AFC West.  That division is going to be a blood bath for the next decade.

If Herbert continues to develop from his already epic rookie season, I would not want to be a DEN or LV fan.  They are going to learn what life was like in the AFCE for the last 10+ years only they may have two loaded teams to deal with.

KC has fixed their oline in one year essentially.

The jets have drafted a LT in about a 10 year span.

Douglas better show up big time in this draft.

I dunno, that one first round pick on OL in 15 years seems to have fixed the entire everything all we need is an injury prone qb

The Ravens looked at the draft and saw that they would get a replacement RT at 27 or 31, guaranteed.

Smart move.

Eichenberg, Cosmi,, likely not Teven, others.

Exactly.  What a terrible move by KC.  He will probably hold out until he gets a new contract.

In no way was this a bad move by KC.  They are in at least a 5-year window of being Super Bowl contenders.  This was their biggest need.  They plugged it.  And with Brown in the last year of his rookie deal, they will almost certainly extend him.  They are prohibitive AFC favorites again now and nothing they did at pick #31 was going to be as good as this.

Most jet fans need "We are building through the draft" stapled on their forehead.

Joe D told you what hes doing and you still dont get it.  Just unreal.

They just spent 75 mil in free agency signing a rusher to a 16 mil a year contract , #2 WR to a 10 mil a year contract, and a DT to a 8 mil a year contract....it's not unreasonable to ask why the line wasn't a priority in free agency considering we have one good lineman and are drafting a QB....but hey lets draft a pass rusher at 23. lol

How many years now have the various Jet GMs stated that we need to build our O line?  That right there is a friggin' how to clinic.

Yeah, but they have the rest of their team already.

Yeah, and it should be listed under the "Don'ts List," as in, don't trade away a third of your draft picks for one offensive tackle when you're rebuilding. Only a team like KC can get away with making a trade like that.

Yeah why trade for a 24 year old pro bowler and pay him when you can give Alex Lewis, Van Rotten, Fant, and Mcgovern 30 mil.
