Also, Douglas drafts and acquires FA based on the scheme the DC is running. It's almost like you don't realize that different schemes value different positions.

It’s almost like you haven’t actually analyzed the defense and are just spouting the generic line about CBs not being important.

For instance the 4-3 over Cover 3 as innovated in Seattle had Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner. Very good to great CBs. When Dan Quinn left to Atlanta, Desmond Trufant a very good CB signed a 5 year- $68 million deal.

The next notable version of that defense emerged in Jacksonville, where the scheme struggled until… they drafted Jalen Ramsey.

Saleh then goes and changes the defense slightly to incorporate some man concepts in San Fran where his CB1 was Richard Sherman who took a discount deal with full guarantees that ended up being worth over $30 million over 3 years. During those years Sherman was at worst a top 3 CB in the league.

If Joe could sign Allen Robinson then the draft you could go all defense

Even if the Jets miss out on Robinson, it's pretty clear that the Jets are going defence heavy in the draft. Could definitely see an edge with #4 and a DB with #10, especially if the Jets find a free agent wide receiver to sign for them.

Agreed.  I do think a WR or TE are possible round 2 but yeah think we got defense at 4 and 10

We need a firing line of all the whiny little bitches that highjacked this board over the last few days.  Put them all in the Gallows for a while.

Stop pre-ejaculating and wait until midseason to render validity on these offseason moves.

At this point i could see the jets going cb or s at 4 and then go edge at 10.

It is a nice signing. But they gave $8 mil per to a TE2.

This is the same years/dollars as the Seahawks just gave Will Dissly, and less than $2M a year more than Uzomah got on his most recent contract a year ago. It’s a mid level TE1 contract for a mid level TE1.

Top TEs are in the 14mil range. He’s young, he’s proved to be reliable target and decent blocker at that.

If the drafted TE1 busts, he’s a sound backup.

Plus, Lafleur’s offence is TE heavy so he’ll see the field a lot.

He’s 29, he’s been in the league for seven years and has 13 career TDs.
