I think Nick Bosa and Quinnen Williams are going 1 and 2 before the Jets pick

How do you know that Rosen wasn't aware of what they were doing the entire time? People just assumed KK would want Murray based on comments he made in college. The Cardinals may have just been trying to leverage the rumors and drive up Murray's stock so someone would try to trade up for him.

The fact that nobody from the Rosen camp ever complained about the Murray rumors leads me to believe they knew the Cardinals were never taking Murray.

Team to 1st-year franchise QB who had a rough season behind a swiss cheese OL and a lame duck HC:

"We're going to pretend we don't like you and court Kyler Murray but it's not for real.  The rest of the world is going to think we gave up on you and that you're barely worth a 3rd round draft pick but you and us will know the real truth.  But let's just keep it to ourselves so we can get some more draft picks.  You don't mind, do you, Josh?"

Yeah...I'm not feeling it.

Except the Cardinals never made any statements saying they didn't like Rosen. It was all media rumors and speculation.

Well....sure...except for this:

INDIANAPOLIS -- Two weeks after new Arizona Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury said quarterback Josh Rosen was "our guy," general manager Steve Keim added a caveat to that statement.

Keim was asked Wednesday at the NFL scouting combine if Rosen, Arizona's 2018 first-round pick, is the team's quarterback moving forward.

"Yeah, he is, right now, for sure," Keim said.

If Arizona skips on Murray, isn't Quinnen Williams a more natural fit for the Cards? They have Jones and Suggs on the edge and not much at DL (I realize Suggs is old).

Yes.  And Robert Nkemdiche is looking like a bust at DT.  A guy like Q Williams or Oliver would each be a better fit today than Bosa or Allen.  I think the Cards really want to trade back and would love for Oakland to come up from #4.

I could see this happening, if only because someone has to whisper into the owner's ear that he's about to turn his franchise upside down at the behest of Kliff ******* Kingsbury.

I mean, it’s the Cardinals. Does it really matter? Outside of a couple magical years of Kurt Warner slinging it around to Fitz and Boldin, they’ve been completely irrelevant for decades.

Personally, I like the experiment they’re trying with Kingsbury.

Lots of smoke screens at the moment, no one is showing their Cards “no pun intended”. It only broke about Mayfield going #1 the day before, and then most didn’t believe it.

Oh it's still never gonna happen. The Jets will be screwed because the Giants are, of course, taking Darnold or trading out.

I'm still waiting for the "real" uniforms.

Plot twist: The Jets draft Kyler and trade Darnold.

I was thinking about the same scenario with the Giants in play.  It would never happen but it is the type of action that could change the team's core by having a 3rd and 6th pick in the same year and still have an outstanding QB.

Winds have been b;lowing this way for a bit. But I think Murray cancelled a visit with the skins which makes you think he knows something,

I'm hoping they take Kyler and go all in on KK's system, will be interesting to watch

You obviously posted this before the thread on the Wonderlick scores came out.?

Francesa said the top offer for Josh Rosen is a 3rd rounder.  If that's the case, I don't know that Arizona is going to trade Rosen right now.  And it could potentially affect whether or not they draft Kyler in the first place.  If Kyler falls to 3, I think there's a good chance we could trade back with someone.  That could be our potential big break.

I would take Bosa, Allen or QW over Oliver. The only way I would consider taking Oliver is if we traded back. Unless you want Jet fans to riot, don't even think about taking him at 3.

MACCAGNAN. PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE PHILISTINES ON THE SIDEWALK. THERE WILL BE NO RIOTS. THERE WILL BE NO BANNERS. THERE WILL BE FRAPPUCINOS AND MANI/PEDIS AND NO MORE JOKES ABOUT HOW YOU LOOK LIKE A GIANT PEAR WITH FROSTED TIPS.

If this is the case, why wouldn't the Cards go ahead and draft Murray anyway? Rosen's value is low right now. They should hold onto him and maybe he shines in the preseason and the Cards can decide to trade him then (like we did with Bridgewater). The Skins took a 2nd QB (Cousins) the year they drafted RGIII.

Kyler Murray still favored to go first, but odds dipping

Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray is still favored to go first overall in the 2019 NFL Draft.

He’s just not as favored as he used to be.

According to David Purdum of ESPN.com, the odds have dipped on bets for Murray to go first overall to the Cardinals.

In previous weeks at FanDuel’s New Jersey sportsbook, Murray’s odds were -1200 (meaning you’d have to bet $1,200 to win $100), but they were down to -400 this morning.

Ohio State Nick Bosa‘s second on the list at +350, so Murray remains a significant favorite.

But whether it’s doubts planted by Antonio Bryant, of Murray not arriving in Nashville this morning as scheduled, or just cold feet on the part of the gambling public, the movement this close to the draft is interesting.

I'm enjoying this shifting narrative...

Kyler Murray not at charity appearance in Nashville this morning

As we’ve noted several times in recent weeks, the one sure way to know Kyler Murray’s probably going to the Cardinals with the first overall pick will be if he’s in the green room as the draft begins.

As far as we know now, he’s still heading that direction. But he’s not there yet.

Accordng to Jenny Vrentas of SI.com, 21 prospects were at Nissan Stadium this morning to assemble kits for a local food bank, but Murray was not in attendance. He was originally scheduled to be at the appearance.

The Oklahoma quarterback is reportedly set to arrive in Nashville later today, so it’s possible there was a mix-up in scheduling for either the charity appearance, his flight, or some other complication.

And it’s entirely possible that his absence this morning means nothing. Unless it doesn’t.

The league initially invited 23 players to Nashville for the first round, and after Montez Sweat pulled out, that would mean Murray’s the only original invitee not on hand this morning.

Kyler Murray was -1200 to go 1 as of 3 weeks ago
