First 11 games of 2008 Favre offense. Though I wasnt alive to see the Namath and Walker+Toon offenses.

With Favre our offense was cooking first 11 games of that season but I personally cannot count it since the season ended once he got hurt

The numbers were skewed by 2 blowouts against NFC West teams.  They scored 49 on O vs Arizona and 40 on O vs SL.  The only other game where the O scored 30 or more in a game was the Tennessee game.

He got hurt in October, his only good stretch of football came in November. The O numbers were skewed by a couple of blowout wins.  That was not a great offense

Without taking STs/defensive scores out(I'll do that later) these are the highest PPG we scored in team history:

1968 29.9

1960(Titans) 27.3

1982 27.2(strike shortened season, only played 9 games

1967 26.5

1998 26.0

2008 25.3

1969 25.2

1985 24.6

Good opportunity for this 2019 team to break some records, Jets probably have only a few seasons with a top 10 offense - I think Penny made the teens one year (2004?)

2015 regular season - the Jets were 10th in league (total offense)

2010 regular season - the Jets were 11th in league

2008 regular season - the Jets were 16th in league

2004 regular season - the Jets were 12th in league

2003 regular season - the Jets were 19th in league

2000 regular season - the Jets were 12th in league

1998 regular season - the Jets were 4th in league (last top ten offense)

1996 regular season - the Jets were 11th in league

1993 regular season - the Jets were 9th in league

1991 regular season - the Jets were 6th in league

1990 regular season - the Jets were 16th in league

1989 regular season - the Jets were 17th in league

1988 regular season - the Jets were 13th in league

1986 regular season - the Jets were 11th in league

1985 regular season - the Jets were 4th in league

1984 regular season - the Jets were 16th in league

1983 regular season - the Jets were 11th in league

1982 regular season - the Jets were 4th in league

1981 regular season - the Jets were 15th in league

need to add 70's

1968 regular season - the Jets were 4th in league

1967 regular season - the Jets were 1st in league (Broadway Joe!)

1966 regular season - the Jets were 4th in league

1960 regular season - the Titans (Jets) were 4th in league

Only 9 top ten offenses in the history of the team! and I did not list the years Jets were 20th or higher (most seasons)

I'm going to go out on a limb here & say after looking at our past offenses, Joe Douglas is going to make sure Sam Darnold is surrounded with weapons going forward & you'll be witnessing the highest scoring Jet team in history. Especially with the newest rules protecting QBs.

actually what ruined it was Shula removing the tarps on the Orange Bowl.

We were on such a roll going into the AFC Championship.

I hope Shula enjoys hell and multiple pokers up the ol' wazzu.

To be fair, Miami swept us in the regular season.  In the first game we scored 28 in a 45-28 loss but we trailed 45-14 and scored 2 garbage time TDs.

In the second game we lost 20-19.

So our O wasn't great in either game against them and as far as being on a roll going into the championship game.  We had a big scoring game at Cincy where the O scored 37 but we scored 17 in winning at LA.

Both teams played on the same field, if anything Miami's O was on a roll having scored 28 and 34 their previous 2 playoff games.

The biggest thing that killed us that day was on Miami's lone offensive scoring drive they fumbled, we recovered but they gave it back to Miami.

I agree, I think we'll be breaking team records with Sam.

The late 60s Jets were easily the best offense in franchise history. Not only were they loaded, but it was considered a very innovative offense that coaches around the country used to study.

In the modern era its 1998

No doubt BUT they also have up a ton of points with turnovers.

1967: 36 points off pick 6s, 14 off STs

1968: 28 points off pick 6s, 28 off STs, 14 off offense fumbles

1969: 14 off pick 6s, 8 off offense fumbles

3 year totals: 11 pick 6s with 3 O fumble returns(100 points) and 42 STs points allowed. 142 points in total.

The question isn't how great our Os were but how great were our D's to overcome this?

That’s the team that made me a fan. Walker was so fun to watch.

And he was at the end of his career on those teams.  I just wished Wesley and the other talent had top QBs to play with.  If they did I think we'd be talking about some of them as Hall of famers

Very good group but the best to me was 68, Snell, Maynard, Sour and Lamont’s. These four had some impressive stats and played a 14 game regular season.

Was emerson boozer on that squad? . He was also terrific

Yes, your confidence was misplaced.  You must be young.  I can't imagine anybody that had seen much of Testaverde thinking his performance than year was anything but a mirage.  All the fumbling in that game was a bit of a shock though.

The Passing game yes the running game with 3.5 ypc 8 td's and 14 yds rushing in the AFCCG I think not..
