You don't risk rupturing your spleen for a couple of games. That is 100% life-threatening.  

What's an optimistic time frame for full recovery?  Just rest or will meds speed it up?

At least a month. I wouldn’t expect him back until maybe Jacksonville. Have to also factor him losing in a bunch of weight over this time as well. So. Could be longer. 

Call this season a huge loss guys. Sucks.

Wont access to some of best docs in country expedite the process?
