Popular Post jetspenguin
Dont click, just read.... Jets CEO Christopher Johnson believes criticism for Adam Gase hire is unfair: sources By MANISH MEHTA NEW YORK DAILY NEWS | NOV 05, 2019 | 7:00 AM Christopher Johnson remains oblivious as Rome is burning, an indecisive, inexperienced placeholder insulated by too many yes men. The 1-7 Jets are circling the drain with Johnson’s hand-picked head coach, lampooned across the NFL after losing to the hapless Dolphins Sunday. While diehards voice his frustrations with colorful metaphors amid this Adam Gase-fueled train wreck, Johnson has the audacity to feel persecuted. Sources told the Daily News that the Jets CEO has told people he’s been unfairly criticized for hiring Gase, who has been an unmitigated disaster from the moment he stepped on the Florham Park campus. Gase has lost 10 of his last 11 games as an NFL head coach. Sam Darnold has regressed under his tutelage. Too many players privately don’t respect Gase. He has no leadership skills whatsoever. But Johnson, who was temporarily handed the keys to the kingdom when his older brother, Woody, went across the pond to work for the Trump administration, has privately expressed to folks that sharp criticism directed at his decision-making and indecisiveness is unwarranted, according to sources. New York Jets Chairman and CEO Christopher Johnson stands on the field during warmups before the game against the Jaguars. (Phelan M. Ebenhack / AP) Johnson, resplendent in a suit and Jets baseball cap Sunday, greeted players just inside the losing locker room. Then he vanished, ducking out to avoid reporters. Johnson has shown no accountability as the Jets have morphed into a punchline. The Jets declined comment when asked by the News whether Johnson would be available to the media to discuss the current state of affairs. As a point of reference, Johnson held sessions with reporters in the first two weeks of each of the past two seasons. It’s unfortunate that Johnson has chosen to hide in the face of adversity. Great leaders use tough moments to shine. Johnson has taken cover, which tells you plenty about why things are run the way they are on One Jets Drive right now. Poor organizations are poor for a reason. Poor leadership on One Jets Drive extends beyond Gase. Leadership flows from the top-down in every company. The successful ones have strong CEOs. The poor ones typically have bad decision makers in critical spots. Sprinkle in an amateurish PR strategy that has needlessly created fires instead of snuffing them out — and presto! — a circus is born. Meanwhile, Gase is Johnson’s No. 1 fan. After all, he swindled Johnson into landing another head coaching gig after imploding with the Jets’ division rival. “Always when we lose a game, I feel like I let him down and haven’t gotten us to where I was hoping we’d be at to his point,” Gase said Monday. “He understands that he’s going to get everything I have day in and day out to work things out…. and keep fighting in trying to find a way to win a game.” That’s a bunch of words signifying nothing. At a time when fan unrest is growing, Gase doesn’t seem to have a care in the world. The chants to fire him as he walked off the field? It bothers him even if he doesn’t admit it. Gase has Johnson in the palm of his hands after the acting owner went all-in by A) hiring him, firing Mike Maccagnan and C) signing off on Gase’s hand-picked successor at GM. Although Gase admitted that he’s “never asked Johnson… directly” whether he’s safe after the season, he has a good feeling that he might be given all that Johnson has invested in him (his judgement, his brother’s money, etc). “I just know that in all my conversations that we’ve had with him,” Gase said, “We’ve let him know kind of where we’re at with our roster and our situations that we’ve had as far as who’s moving in and out of the lineup. He knows what we’re trying to do every day in practice and through our meetings and what we’re working on to get better. I don’t know. We’ve just been talking about getting our guys ready to go each week and updating him on kind of where were at during practice during the week.” Translation: I used injuries (and mono) as an excuse… and I think he bought it. Reduced to simplest terms, Gase has been a bad head coach, whose poor roster and time management was on display Sunday. He curiously activated injured tight end Chris Herndon (and predictably didn’t play him) rather than elevate a player off the practice squad, who might actually help him on gameday. He also bled nearly six minutes off the clock in the fourth quarter by refusing to use his timeouts. But Gase believes he has no reason to worry about his job security. “It’s just something I don’t really focus on,” Gase said. “My job is to try to get the team prepared every week, get them ready to go, get them focused on the game that we have to play. One and seven is not fun to go through.” “Things haven’t gone the way that we wanted,” Gase continued. “That happens in the NFL sometimes. Unfortunately, we’re going through it right now. All I can focus on is we’ll be better for having to go through this. It’s extremely tough. We’re going to see how tight we are as a group. Coaches, players, support staff. Everybody in the building. We got to battle through this. We got to figure out a way to dig ourselves out of this and go find a way to win a game.” Johnson is gullible enough to believe it.

Popular Post Charlie Brown
I will be straight up here. I supported C.J. and thought that he was doing a good job in trying to gain control of the Jets organization and all the while he was making some tough decisions even while making huge mistakes. And while Manish is a tool, no doubt, if this article is even 50% accurate then the Johnson’s have to sell the team. Just sell the team..... Cause....... This means that the Jets are willing to destroy a potential Franchise QB because an obviously incompetent HC says he knows what he is doing. When even Stevie Wonder could understand that the Jets have regressed under Gase. Think on it....the Jets are the worst team in the NFL This status has been accomplished when the Jets have more talent on both sides of the ball than last year and that is taking INJURIES INTO ACCOUNT!! The Jets are Worse Than Last Year!! Period!!! And Sam Darnold went from"Potential" to "Bust Potential" under Adam Gase! What are we supposed to do.... let Gase and Co, get rid of Sam Darnold, draft a new QB and then blame them for their OBVIOUS INCOMPETENCE!!! Based on this logic the Jets will be in the same position 5 to 7 years from now, that is without a Franchise QB and looking for a REAL HC!! Good Grief...... Enough already.... Just sell the team..... 7

Jetster
Mehta, Mehta, Mehta, I know your reading this right now because you use Jetnation to get a read on the average Jet fan. How do lose players that won't even be here AND THEY KNOW IT? Everytime Sam gets chased, or sacked or hit, do you honestly think players like Anderson, Bell & Crowder are thinking about quitting the Jets for the rest of their careers here? I doubt it, you know what their thinking? Their thinking HOLY SH*T our offensive line SUCKS! Bell, Crowder, Anderson, Mosely, Adams, Maye, they know this roster is horrible & will be completely turned over. They are not stupid. That doesn't mean they won't regroup next year. This seasons over, I know it, you know it, Gase knows it, JD knows it, CJ knows it. While most of you are doing victory laps claiming Gase is terrible & JD will fail, CJ is witnessing the sh*tshow created by Macc. You guys aren't sitting in a room with Gase, JD & CJ, maybe, just maybe, these guys are BRUTALLY HONEST with CJ & like us are telling him, dude, you have the worst roster in football! We need to completely revamp the Oline, we don't have 1 starter here that would start on any of the 32 teams in this league! And they would be speaking the truth! Joe Douglas wouldn't touch this dumpster fire without a 6 year contract, and you know what? He probably explained to CJ it might take 3 years to respectability it's so bad here. The only thing being decided by Gase/JD in the next 8 games is WHO IS STAYING. Most will be going! You guys wanted a rebuild, well this is gonna be one. No more signing average players, Enunwa, Winters, Roberts, Johnson, Beachum, to above average contracts. How long have Jet fans been asking for Winters to be replaced by a better player? Jets have never truly rebuilt ever. They have ALWAYS added an expensive luxury to a Pinto. Brace yourselves. 1 1

PepPep
Everybody gets a bite of the s**t sandwich but nobody shuld have to eat the whole thing. So while Gase has been bad and I believe he should be fired, I can see how you can argue that the injuries and roster deficiencies from last year have combined to really hurt this team this year. But again, I STILL think he deserves a lot of the blame for not figuring out how to overcome and I think he's lost the locker room so, yeah, this didn;t work out and the Jets should pull the plug now rather than waste another season with this guy.

How disgusting this season turned out to be It’s very possible Gase WON’T be gone, because this article reflects on what kind of person Chris Johnson is. He definitely isn’t one to “take the rap”. I never bothered to ever hear or know his story but it can’t be much more impressive than his Univ of Arizona “C” student Billionaire brother (while the rest of the family I think went to Harvard, the Jets as you see are “run” by the Black Sheep of the family, and to no one’s surprise....it Shows). Johnson fires Gase, which he should have done yesterday, it reflects very poorly on himself, his intelligence (or lack thereof)....no, the writing is on the wall, Gase will be here until the very last second, when the torches and pitchforks are in the street in so much mass that Johnson’s hand is finally forced....beautiful. F*ck this “team”. And once Darnold is officially RUINED, I’m almost totally done with this team. Don’t get me wrong I’ll check a score now and then like with the Knicks, but to pay money to watch on TV....forget it. Then it’ll be just anger and then apathy waiting for the Johnsons to sell the team, which will never happen, just like the Wilpons and Dolan. Gase is actually WORSE than Todd Bowles, that’s virtually impossible to do. (Note: Todd Bowles Tampa D is now 31st in the NFL in Points Allowed, giving up around 35 a game (which I predicted would happen), where are the posters on here who said “he’s a good D Coordinator being a HC is not for everyone? He’s a f*ckin moron and the Johnsons kept him around for 4 YEARS when it was so obvious that he should have never been given more than 2). And Gase is WORSE than Bowles. “Genius”? “QB Whisperer”? He barely has a scintilla of competence. Man, but he must have some line of sh*t, selling this dweeb into making him an NFL coach again, then again it probably wasn’t difficult to do...Chris Johnson, another black sheep, can’t be too bright.
