That's not what it says. 

It says...

"Johnson will make the final decision"

There is a huge difference between making the decision, and giving something your blessing/money.

Well the way it was moving, they had their choice Gase or McCarthy.

Neither one was getting an offer anywhere else, we could have taken more time and they still would have been sitting there.  

We didnt want the other candidates, that was the problem
