6-11.  2022 is the year to contend.

I can respect that Lith.

And won't nitpick.

But always remember 1996 1-15 under Kotite to 9-7 1997 under Parcells.  With damn near the same exact roster. Just a different CULTURE. And that team goes 10-6 and makes the playoffs if not for a stupid HB option pass turned INT inside the end zone and 2021's team is much more talented than 1997s.

The Robert Saleh culture change has already happened.

That was a veteran team (one rookie starter -- James Farrior and one 2nd year starter--Keyshawn) with a HOF head coach.  This is a young team with rookie QB, rookie HC and rookie OC.  Could be 5 or more rookie starters (Zach, AVT, Moore, Sherwood, Hamsah) and a bunch of year 2 guys who will play significant roles (Hall, Mims, Becton, Guidry, Jackson, Davis, Huff).  We have a starting OL that has not played together for a single snap in the preseason and we lost two pass rushers for the season.  There will be growing pains.

Before the pre-season, I was saying 7 or 8 wins if Zach has a solid rookie season, with a chance to steal a wild card with a couple of breaks.  Now, I think 6 wins is about right.

I sure hope you are right about this one, but I think we are still a year away.

I’m thinking 2 wins is the floor and 5 wins is the ceiling. The offensive line is still a mess and we all know the defense is going to be terrible.

Good news is that there is a rookie QB and plenty of young players that will make games worth watching.

Wouldn’t be shocked if the Jets are in contention the have the first overall pick.

You're forgetting one thing. Neil O'Donell was an above average QB (at best).

And 1997's team had a lot of younger players and players who all mostly played too.

James Farrior = Rookie.

Dedric Ward = Rookie.

Rick Terry = Rookie.

Jerald Sowell = Rookie.

Leon Johnson = Rookie.

John Hall = Rookie.

Keyshawn Johnson = 2nd year.

Ray Mickens = 2nd year.

Marcus Coleman = 2nd year.

Alex Van Dyke = 2nd year.

Wayne Chrebet = 3rd year.

Hugh Douglas = 3rd year.

Matt O'Dwyer = 3rd year.

Kyle Brady = 4th year.

Aaron Glenn = 4th year.

Victor Green = 5th year.

Marvin Jones = 5th year.

Adrian Murrell = 5th year.

Wasn't just a bunch of 10 year vets and only 1 player made the Pro Bowl (Aaron Glenn).

Yes 2021s team is younger maybe even much younger but it's also way more talented than 1997s and we will have at least 5 Pro Bowl players.

The Season is better, more competitive, and more fun that the final record would indicate.

And if the ball bounces our way more often than not, 7 or even 8 wins could be possible.

A bright outlook for year 2 of the Saleh/Wilson show.

I like this one. Not gonna do a game by game prediction but I see 6-11 give or take 2 wins. We're realistically not a playoff team, so the essentials this year are Saleh and Co. establishing a well oiled machine to blueprint future success through leadership, game management, adaptability and establishing culture. I want to see a team with fight that consistently improves as the year progresses. .

On the player side, obviously the centerpiece to this year is Wilson and the rest of the young guns. I expect Wilson to have a passing statline similar to Kyler which isn't world-breaking, but shows promise. The most important thing though is him continuously improving and fixing mistakes he might make earlier in the year by week 18. Moore and Davis are also key to his success early on, I mean look at how having a good chemistry with WRs helped Herbert find success.

Overall, just want to see a good Wilson with lots of promise for the future, a well rounded and smart display of coaching, and further development of our many young and promising players.

The Jets will lose some games they shouldn’t, and win some they shouldn’t. That still leaves them in about the same 6 win territory. They should be able to draft a can’t miss DE next year and another O LINE to tie this all together.

I'm fine with 3 wins as long as it becomes clear that Zach is going to be the guy. I would not be okay with 10 wins if the quarterback situation is a mess.

I think we'll go 6-11, and I think we might have our Quarterback for years to come.

7-10

I think the season starts out promising. People getting overly excited about some early wins going into the bye week. Then a brutal losing streak where people flip out the other way followed by a 'surprise' win against the Dolphins (who are struggling to make the playoffs) sparks a winning streak. Season ends with a couple close losses to good teams and some high scoring games that give everyone hope for the offense next year. The final game of the year against the Bills goes down to the wire and ends with a wide open Herndon dropping the winning touchdown.
