I’m disappointed in Saleh

First off I’ll say that I was a huge proponent of hiring him, well before it was assumed he was the front runner for the job.

I also still believe he can be a great coach.  Not throwing in the towel on him by any means.

That said, I  pretty disappointed so far.  And it really boils down to not being what you said you were going to be.  If you are going to implement a slogan, you better live it.  Results aside, the Jets play scared, cautious and conservative. Nothing like I expected.  I can live with mistakes when they are made out of an abundance of effort and aggression.  We have zero aggression.  That needs to change pronto.

Then throwing in things like “We’ve had great practices ” etc etc.  No one wants to hear that.  Own it.  Say you weren’t good enough.  Move on.

Same here.  Huge fan of the guy.  This isn't going well and he's responsible for it as the head honcho.

With that said, the defense has largely held up its end of the bargain.

The offense and the development of the QB are waaaay behind.  He may have the wrong OC and he may not have a good QB.  Both are TBD but heading the wrong way.

Week 2 was worse than Week 1.  Week 3 was worse than Week 2.  Week 4 is a damn good Titans team and Derrick Henry.

I thought he needed another year so I can't say I'm any more disappointed now than I have been from him announcing his staff picks. A rookie head coach needs an experienced staff. You can't just hire every guy who 'deserves' a promotion and hope it all gels. This staff is so incredibly inexperienced that it's irresponsible. This was predictable. 

The Jets were going to be bad and it seems like the staff itself actually believed some carebear sh*t of everyone will grow together and we'll win with the power of positivity.

He passed the eye test…. But very little real experience. 
 

he appears to have not been ready.

Also, I believe sticking with Lefluer for too long is gonna be the downfall for him. He picked him himself and he’s gonna give him time to “grow” and it’s gonna cripple this team.

Its 3 weeks so it's too early to call it I will wait to see how the season unfolds and how the team looks.

 

But today was alarming. The team looked disinterested and beaten down almost across the board. It was undisciplined, sloppy and unprepared. You cant praise any single aspect of the team.

 

And its not like we have been facing great teams. These are teams we should at worst be competitive with.

 

But 3 weeks in a row the other team looks like they just wanted the game to end by the third quarter because the jets posed such little threat.

I know it falls on the coaches.. but this team lacks decent talent all around. The Jets have no high caliber players on any side of the ball let alone offense. Wilson misses a few throws and his receivers drop twice as many, Wilson is running for his life.. they just lack talent all around..

The warning signs were there. This is not an NFL team.

In all seriousness, losing Lewis, Lawson, Davis, Pryor, Curry, Becton decimated an already underwhelming roster and JD decided not to make any moves to compensate 

8 rookies playing lots of minutes 

tne OC is 34 years old and a first time play caller and the offense takes time to install 

not sure how much input he had in this, but never getting a veteran QB to use as a staking horse of sorts, to play 6 games and get benched for Wilson, is malfeasance

My thoughts on him started to sour when another CB wasn’t brought in.  I get Bless wasn’t amazing but he had NFL experience and was a starter last year.  
 

My other problem with him is the LBs.  Taking safeties and converting them to LB isn’t the move and these guys are getting bullied out there.

I've been a JD this past year because I like the way he handled this draft (meaning focused on offense early).  But he's been a pure horror show...

Hard to judge Saleh when the GM who assembled the roster has been an unmitigated disaster. I thought Saleh's handling of preseason was weird, especially for such a young team...but the blame should be on Douglas (and obviously the owners). Douglas should be fired this week along with the scouting team. They need to start over and find a new way to scout/identify football players. 0 points in 2021 deserves to get him fired alone.

We expected Saleh to bring a high degree of control and discipline.  Right now?  The team looks exactly like it has for years, awful and inept.

I know no one wants to hear it but his handling of Mims on a team that can't score points has got to be an issue in the locker room.  I mean why is this guy being scapegoated and made inactive every week when the entire offence sucks ass?   It is not a good look and it starting to blow up in his face.

We'll see. I like Sean McDermott for the Bills. I think he's the mold for a 'defensive' head coach. He brought his buddy in as OC and made the playoffs in his 1st year... then fired the OC and went out to find someone more innovative because he wasn't happy with the offense.

He talked about how he was a new head coach and needed an experienced hand on offense that first year. Sat in on all the offensive meetings and told them how he'd attack them as a defense. Then he said he learned enough about offense to know he needed to make a change at OC. 

Saleh seems like he promoted and brought a bunch of guys who 'deserve' it. He's here next year so we'll see if he can course correct his staff picks.
