Our backfield contains Breece Hall and Dalvin Cook, who we should have drafted instead of double Safety round one and two.

Who gives a F about Bam Knight, M Carter.

It's nice to have a solid #3 though, right? Running backs get injured. What's interesting though, is that is would be efficient if your #3 is a stud special teamer, which MC is not. Breece needs a few weeks, at least. I'm guessing that's why MC is being prioritized.

I get he hasnt had a good pre season, but explain to me the RB room for week 1.  Dalvin Cook is presumably out, Izzy is injured and return date is undetermined yet ??, Breece first game back and hasnt had a carry in the pre season so can only assume limited touches, so that leaves Michael Carter and Bowden as your 2 main backs for the Bills?  or do they think Izzy will be 100% by then ?   Seems like a weak group for week 1 game due to all the health concerns and not much of a ground game if your banking on MC

Why is Cook out?

Keep hearing hes nursing an injury that hasnt fully recovered and a possible 1 game suspension is also a possibility

Well that’d be disappointing to say the least. We gave him a 1 year deal I’d like to get my moneys worth with the guy. Suit him up and run him into the ground this year!

They didn't announce this - the agent leaked it. But "if you want this guy, I hope you have a high waiver priority if you're not making me a good enough offer" is a pretty standard move

I get that part. What I'm asking is, in reality - if this isn't an agent puffing up his client by making up pure nonsense that never happened - if the Jets had an offer for him, why would they turn it down only to release him?

Breece is full go, no restricts.  15 plus touches Monday night.

Accept it jet fans!  Breece is healthy!!

Why is that? He can't block. Bam Knight catches the ball too. I don't understand this take, but the Jets agree.

Carter is fine at blocking. Knight doesn't catch the ball as well as Carter does. In college and in the pros. Did he drop 2 balls in pre-season?

Michael Carter had a good rookie year.  He was dinged up last year, less effective, and also running behind a very damaged o-line later in the year. He looked pretty good this pre-season.  More burst than last year.  And he is a good receiver.

Bam had a few good highlights, but I was never wowed by him.  I think Carter, healthy, is a better back.  I expected Carter to get the job,

Tonight on Eyewitness News,

An undrafted RB was cut today after unremarkable mediocre play during the 2022 regular season, and an even less remarkable preseason in 2023.

Tune in at 11, Eyewitness news promises to have all the late breaking details on this important story.

You forgot about the part about how "outrage ensued".

100 plus is pretty good. Just cause he got cut doesn't mean you have to rag doll. Knight had a couple good games. Hardly unremarkable.

Considering the offense it was remarkable

I mean he's whatever.  You wanted Dalvin so bad:  Bam was the casualty of that.  One early down back upgrade over another.  You knew someone had to go, right?

Breece does not need a few weeks. Why is this still a thing? He made it into practice before the guy we absolutely had to sign to get those early season reps practiced (has Cook practiced yet?) Abanikanda has a contusion, they hurt but they heal without much in the way on lingering effects. Knight is a nice jack-of-all-trades type backup, while MC1 has specialist skills when it comes to catching the ball. That was the difference, and I thought it was obvious. Bam was a goner as soon as they signed Cook for his retirement tour.
