How do they define and grade separation prevented?

Using PFF data. I thought it was NextGenStats data, which is a little fugazi because it uses GPS so it’ll give a “pressure” to an edge rusher who’s face down on the ground as the QB scrambles past them.

We need to extend Huff and MC 2 the price only goes up by the week JD

MC 2 is going to be a tough sign. Does he take slot corner money? because when he eventually hits the market, some team is going to overpay him to be a starting outside guy.

Sauce, Carter, and Reed ranking super high. If the Jets can score a few points on offense, this defense will reach elite levels very quickly.

Posted a similar graph w/edge rushers and Huff popped. Jets need to keep this unit together through next season. There’s too much talent to let ZW sink the ship.

Belichick is gonna be licking his chops to sign MC2.

Then find another slot corner, or let Echols become the slot corner. Collect the compensation.

Our D ended last season #4 overall. This season, thru 4 games, we're 22nd. Lots of room to get better.

Zach fumbled the ball, down by 3, with over 8 minutes left in the 4th qtr. Never got the ball back. I know McD got held on Mahome's long scamper, but 8 minutes to close out the game? Come on guys, step it up.

I have no idea what this graph is showing. Lol. Am I the only idiot here?

It's showing data some dorks at PFF, who played cricket and never held a football, dreamed up. They may or may not have actually watched the games and no one knows the definition of the metrics on the axis.

So this graphic is telling us we have great to elite cover corners, but we like to run zone and have communication breakdowns that lead to long TDs?

Correct. Also probably worth noting that Devin Witherspoon made more impact plays in his last game than Sauce has made in his entire career. The impact just isn’t there yet. The defense still sucks on 3rd downs which is all that matters.

Huff is going to be virtually impossible to keep, that was cemented the moment JD decided to go with 1st rounders on DE in back-to-back drafts, while still having JFM's contract going for another 2 years after this.  Even if the Jets offer him what seems to be a decent contract, Huff has every motivation to get himself to the open market, as there's many other places he'll have a much better crack at a starting job than with the Jets, and undoubtedly a bigger payday (both this time and in future contracts) that comes along with that.  And in his case, that opportunity is only months away.

MC2 could very easily become a decision for the Jets between keeping him or Reed, as they both have one year left after this season.  MC2 is a little different as you might be able to try to work out a deal with him earlier on at a little better price, with the motivation being you can offer him a bump in his pedestrian 2024 pay as part of the deal, but Reed is definitely going to want to cash in, as it'll likely be his last big chance.
