They probably did worse than we did with Josh Rosen and Kyler Murray.  Yes they won some games with Kyler but they also got suckered into a big contract that they're stuck with.  I like our situation better (at the moment, at least).

Theres a saying in business that 100% applies to QB's, fail fast, Cardinals failed over like 6 years, we at least failed in 2

I was on record a few weeks ago predicting that Kyler Murray might "the guy" who unexpectedly becomes available this offseason...

Has all the makings for an ejaculation out of the desert--

  • sputtering season in 2022
  • Regime turnover
  • offense tailoring needed *possibly*
  • longevity concerns
  • Massive contract dealt out

Sounds like a prime candidate for the Jets, tbh

Honestly, sans Rodgers/Carr... probably next best?

?????

Lazy, sucks and has a massive contract

yup, exactly what a team wants. Lol

How would they eat a $100MM dead cap hit? They haven't paid him $100MM yet for his whole career, so far as I can tell.

I think you may be counting what it costs to cut him, not to trade him (let alone trade him before his bonus is due this March, to make it payable by a different team).

I'm an idiot, had it toggled to cut pre June 1st, not traded pre June 1st. $59m dead cap hit is the correct number if traded pre June 1. There is a $36m bonus due the 10th day of the new league year. I suppose they could trade him before them and eat the cap hit to avoid paying him but man talk about selling low.

Some intrepid data nerds analyzed all of Murray’s performances and found that his production was worse to a statistically-signifiant degree during weeks when Call of Duty (apparently his game of choice) was running experience multiplier events.

Probably one of the worst contracts out there.

A.  Bad Attitude Issues, tons of reports out there that stated players wanted Colt McCoy over him, plus lack of accountability.

B.  Played with a legit WR1, and finished behind Heniecke, Mariotta, and Brisset in passer rating.

C.  Shredded his knee to the point, they aren't even sure when he'll be back, most likely a rehab year.  If you take away his scrambling, gets even worse as a QB.

D.  Massive contract to kill your cap.

E.  Didn't exactly develop under an offensive coach that runs a very similar system to what he ran in college.

F.  Christian Kirk actually looked better getting away from Kyler.

G.  They literally had to have a homework clause in his contract.

E.  Coaches rejecting them left and right, most likely because of him.

Here's the gist of it.  I rather have Zach Wilson.  I'd rather run the wildcat and tank next year than trade for Murray.
