This is a new era.  We are a well managed organization now no more 4 qbs on the roster and Hackenbergs wearing pajamas on the sideline 

 

Time to cut Webb now

It isn’t time for cut down yet. They’ll be getting rid of him when the time comes. I expect it to be by preseason game 3.

Remember back in the spring, when people were saying that Webb was ahead of Siemian for the #2 job? Fun times. 

They'll cut him when they decide they need his roster spot for someone else (another kicker?), or on cut down day. there's no big rush.

Camp fodder and nothing more. After that last game he'll either get cut or be first roster cuts

Pretty much want to have 4 QBs in camp at this time.  Darnold will play 1-2 series.  Siemian will play into the 2nd quarter.  Then it's Falk and Webb time the rest of the way so we don't have our backup in playing against desperate bubble guys trying to get attention for a big (late) hit.  Can't have just one or an injury forces the #2 back in.  So Webb is there to fill a role and keep our backup healthy.  That's probably it but with a 90-man roster, who cares.

+1. He's just a warm body until they need his space or need to cut down. Nothing more nothing less.

I've said this several times on this site. Webb is terrible. Had him a Tech, will never amount to anything in the NFL including practice squad. The fact he's still here suggests we are still in the danger zone with upper management.

As others have already mentioned, at this point he's simply a camp arm and his greatest use will be for preseason week 4 playing time, when Darnold will be nowhere near the field and Siemian will likely get little, if any, play of his own.  Let's not forget that the Eagles usually don't even play their #2 QB in that game, so it's certainly possible the Jets will take a similar approach.  After all, a few years ago the Jets signed Matt Flynn and Josh Johnson right before the 4th preseason game just to make sure they didn't get 3rd stringer Bryce friggin' Petty hurt (after Geno had been punched out).  Webb taking a roster spot is pretty meaningless unless it still holds true after final cutdowns.

No, we're judging Webb based off his body of work in the NFL since joining the league in 2017.  He's not some rookie who hasn't had enough reps.
