Popular Post 82nd Airborne
Get it done! https://www.prosportsdaily.com/articles/espn-predicts-emmanuel-sanders-will-sign-with-the-jets-613796.html ESPN’s Bill Barwell wrote a predictions column about possible moves we could see in free agency this in a month that could have a domino effect and cause chaos around the league. Barnwell involved the San Francisco 49ers in two deals, both surrounding the wide receiver position. The first move includes Emmanuel Sanders going to another team. Barnwell has Sanders signing a four-year, $40 million deal with the New York Jets: With Quincy Enunwa’s future uncertain after suffering his second neck injury in three years, the Jets could add a replacement for the 27-year-old by signing Sanders. The SMU product played well after returning from a torn Achilles and enjoyed his time under Jets coach Adam Gase when both were in Denver. Emmanuel Sanders says he’ll play at a high level well into his 30s The real takeaway here is that it’s going to be tough for the 49ers to retain Sanders. He’s going to have suitors, and someone is going to pay him a lot of money. Sanders did everything that the 49ers asked of him, and then some. In an offense that was more wide receiver centric, Sanders puts up bigger numbers, and it would be tougher to let him leave. I think Sanders was as good as he showed in the first few games where he went over 100 yards twice. 4 1

Year two 5 million Year 3 and 4 will be 15mm each 1

He’s horrible in every aspect.

Jetster
If you notice these PREDICTIONS, it's always the Jets that should sign old washed up vets for big dollars. I don't see JD going old. The only vets signing here will be for team friendly deals. I still don't think Anderson sees anything over 10 million & if he does, the guarantees will be much lower. His contract will be interesting no matter who signs him. Is he really a top #2 either? I look at #2s to be sure handed guys that fight for the ball. He's really a #3, a nine route guy that works deep & the sideline. Deebo Samuel is the type of #2 I want, or like Greenbean drafting Pittman in the 3rd, he's the perfect #2 type. Im still hoping Dallas reups Dak because if they do, I have no idea how they can resign Cooper. OFFENSE, OFFENSE, OFFENSE this offseason. Just imagining Cooper, Pittman, Crowder, Herndon, Bell lineup. SHWING.
rangerous
reason 3652 not to ever listen or read espn. sanders, imo, is a little too far on the wrong side of 30. the thing too is if they do sign this guy, they will need to use a pretty high draft pick on a receiver in the draft. no 5th round reaches. The jets are always the team that these hacks use to plug in the move that they don’t want to slot any other team to do, like sign bell for all this money...so I get it. Until douglas shows otherwise this is the fair media treatment we get.
Rangers9
I would do that 4-40 with him. He's more reliable and consistent than Robby and he helped the 49ers a lot after they acquired him. It would be a smart signing.

Most of these types of "this guy might go here" articles are agent-driven. Additionally, Sanders almost assuredly has no intention of signing with the Jets anyway, we're an agent favorite to use to drive up market price on free agents. FidelioJet
Who exactly do you guys want on the team? We only have a few draft picks - you don’t want to keep Robby (wants too much) you don’t want to sign a Sanders (he’s too old) What exactly are y’all expecting. Sanders would be a solid signing and we should keep Robby...with our two TE’sn - if they stay healthy it’ll be a huge upgrade over last year - shore up the o-line as best you can and this is an upgraded team. There are no silver bullets out there. This team almost entirely neglected offense for almost a decade. Not sure what you guys expect. 1

You know, someone who isn't on a steep age-related decline, has shown potential, and whose best years are ahead of them, not behind. Hell, Phillip Dorsett does a good bit of what Robby does and would cost less than half of what Robby would.

Demarcus Robinson plays in a pinball game and has half of that. I actually find Breshad Perriman somewhat intriguing, but he was the definition of a bust before the last quarter of 2019 and getting yardage in a Bruce Arians offense does not seem particularly unusual. JustInFudge
If they're going to target a veteran WR, I'd look at Randall Cobb. He'll be considerably cheaper and is still good when healthy.

ChuckkieB
If Sanders is part of a FA / draft strategy that provides the team with more than an average upgrade in the WR room, then I'm all for it. If this is just a cheaper an older replacement for Anderson with no other upgrades, then I don't like it at all.
