If true, it’s likely more proof of the ass-backwards operation. JD wouldn’t leak this. Only the Johnsons would care about the PR aspect.

He mentioned that if he gave away the agent that they contacted it would give away who his source is.  So it's obviously the Agent that is his source not the owners

I mean, based on Mort's report and what happened yesterday this isn't surprising at all.

Gase is getting fired Friday morning.

If this is remotely true you are ALREADY fired!

No way your boss is interviewing replacements like this and you stay.

If true, what it tells me is that the Jets had to win this past Sunday (or look competitive) and win on Thursday, and because of what happened yesterday the Thursday option is off the table.

So if true.......Gase is GONE!

Cowherd just dropped some tea on his show- said Jets brass have reached out to agents about coaching candidates.

I know some of you hate him. I’m just the messenger.

Jet fans hate every sportscaster because it's in their job description to cover how bad the Jets have been over the years.

I hear there is an up and coming DC down in Tampa that we may want to check out

I swear I wasn’t happy with the Gase hire but I told myself it’s ok because I just saw the worst HC I’ve ever seen in Bowles.  I was wrong Gase is the worst.  The Jets were even able to outdo themselves doing the incomprehensible, actually finding someone worse than Bowles.

In the process they also were able to do something I promised myself wouldn’t happen from the day he was drafted.  They were able to destroy Sam Darnold.  I kept telling myself, “they’ll be smart, they’ll do all they can to surround Darnold with protection and some playmakers, they’ve seen all around the league examples of young QBs getting wrecked by bad management”.

Are there any legit HC candidates without jobs right now?

Or would they be reaching out to guys under contract with other teams?  Seems very early to start that process, as you can't interview them until the regular season is over, at the earliest.

The idiot who hired Gase will simply hire another idiot.

Name ONE good hire the Johnsons have made? and don't say Douglas. We don't know that.

In the time we have had REX, we have had 3 coaches, at least 5 QB's, and 4 GM's.

The Ravens, who wouldn't even consider REX, have had 1 coach, a SB, TONS of playoffs, 2 QB's.

MANAGEMENT!!!

WE ARE DOOMED!!!!!

Go college, the game isn't about calling plays or being a disciplinarian, It's about player

development. College coaches face  different players every four years or less.

the good ones know how to grow young kids into formidable college players.

Urban Meyers, Mike Leach ought to be given a call

If we're looking at college coaches.  Somebody should give Chris Petersen a call. I have no doubt he could be a decent NFL coach.  There is no pure football mind with a no BS mindset attached.  And he left CFB precisely because he got sick of recruiting.  I just can't believe he doesn't want to come back to the game.
